Default Paxil and *** (anxiety)

Hi All.

I know that would get everybody to read this!

I have been on Paxil 40mg for 3 months, little side effects except....

I have not been able to achieve ****** during *** or manually. Now
this was fun for the first few times, but my wife and I are wondering
if anyone else has experienced this. She feels like she is not doing
her thing right, and as for conceiving, well, if the gun ain't
firing.....

On the plus side, my anxiety attacks are gone, and I feel better about
life in general.

Any thoughts will be appreciated.

Default Paxil and *** (anxiety)

This is a very common side effect of the SSRI group.
I take Paxil and have issues with this also that seem to go in cycles.
Fortunately I am single so it does not effect anyone else but me.
I don't think your wife need feel guilty; perhaps a visit to the doctor to
discuss the issue?
Glad to hear the anxiety attacks, etc are gone.
Regards,
John

Default Paxil and *** (down withdrawal)

Of all the newer generation of anti-depressants, Paxil has the worst
effect on *** life. Supposedly, Wellbutrin has the fewest effects on
*** but I found even that one affects it. Fact is, all anti-depressants
turn down ***ual performance. I've tried most of them at one time
or another. Paxil is one I didn't try, but everything I've read says
what you are experiencing is very typical. If you want to get
your wife pregnant, you might want to consider what they call
"a medication holiday." Supposedly, that's where you go off
your meds for a few days so your ***ual performance returns.
But I hear Paxil has horrid withdrawal effects, so you best ask
you doctor about taking a holiday from Paxil.

Default Paxil and *** (serotonin)

The reason Wellbutrin likely has the least effect is because it is the only
one really that selectively targets dompamine.

Increased dompamine makes many actually feel hyper-***ual. Of course
Wellbutrin also targets norepinephrine like the tricyclics, and that just
like serotonin descreases *** drive..

So I figure most get a slight boost in ***-drive, while the others whom the
dompamine doesn't effect much get the decrease from the norepinephrine.

Default Paxil and *** (erection)

If you ask me why - it's my belief that Paxil is an extremely powerful SSRI;
maybe the most powerful.

I never took it for a long term basis, only long enough to know it was
making my brain go haywire. One person said it will go away in a year, and
you say it is working for you which is great; so, my opinion is you should
feel grateful that at least you can get an erection (you can right?) and
stick with it for a while longer.

Default Paxil and ***(again) (panic ejaculation erection)

Just to clairify, I have no erection problem, in fact *** is lasting
longer than before. My *** drive is about the same, my wife even says
it seems better. I guess the fact that the non-****** thing is going
on and it is not constantly on my mind is both a blessing and a curse.
I have made sure wifey knows she is not the problem, *** has never
been better!

(thanks to the Paxil, I can relax, not panic, and I am much more fun
to be around, but man can I get drunk fast!

When I posted this via Google, I saw replys from 1998 which makes me
feel a bit better knowing I am not the only one. I have gone to my
health food guy and picked up some Ginko Biloba(sp) and will try the
herbal route.

I found out by searching last night that Paxil has been prescribed for
men with premature ejaculation probelm in low doses.

Gents, if you have this problem, I highly recommend Paxil.

Thanks to all replies,

MMB

Default Paxil and *** (dopamine ejaculation serotonin)

I'd say the reason that Wellbutrin doesn't have ***ual side effects is
because it doesn't target serotonin.

"SSRIs (eg Paxil) are thought to stimulate serotonin 2A receptors in the
spinal cord causing inhibition of the spinal reflexes of ****** and
ejaculation and cause ***ual sysfunction.

And stimulation of serotonin 2A receptors in the mesocortical pleasure
centers may reduce dopamine activity there and cause apathy and/or decreased
libido".

published by Cambridge University Press

University of California, San Diego)

Yeah, the only problem I have with being really fun to be around is that
everyone wants to be around me..

Good luck,

Everyone is different, of course, but I have been on Paxil for many years,
and the effect does not go away with time.

You misunderstood; I did not intend to call you unusual, at least not in
that sense. If I found anything unusual it was your extremely selfless 'at
least it's not anyone elses problem' attitude.

That's good. Perhaps the reason I do not understand is because I have not.

I'm sorry to hear that, it's a shame I believe.

I have the same desires and feelings

Didn't mean to imply otherwise.

but think fixating on *** (or anything else) is not

I agree. And don't get me wrong - I don't believe in fixating on *** either,
at least not in the /shallow/ sense.

Think about all the crazy things people do just to get a

Mmmm... yes. For me *** or what I like to call love-making is about an
expression of love and the emotional connection shared between two people;
so I'm not big on 'one night stands'. I can recall few if any times when I
made love with a girl/woman whom I did not have /real/ feelings for.

Yeah, that's what I was talking about.

I know it was very

Now that I can understand.

I think it's overrated in the psychical, empty, carnal, hedonistic sense,
absolutely Regards, Jay
