Default Serzone working too well?

-I have taken Serzone with my Depakote and Seroquel for the past years
and it works great. So great that if I take more than 250mg a day, I
laugh for no reason, act like Stimpy the cat and have this dumb smile
stamped in my face that makes me look like if I had smoked a foot long
marijuana joint.

Did any of you have similar experiences with Serzone? Or with other
ADs? At 250mg/day, I'm slightly below minimal effective dose (which is
300mg a day). But I keep it this way or else I get high on it... My
doc finds this a bit unusual too because virtually no patient ever gets
any benfit from Serzone at less than 300-400mg a day. Found no logical
explanation. Maybe I'm hypersensitive, but if I really was, chances are
I wouldn't tolerate it well.

Default Serzone working too well? (effexor)

that is very strange. i wish it had worked like that for me i was on
400mg/day for a while and all it did was screw with my vision. i got
those "trails" that people talk about. somewhat akin to a strobe light.

effexor, on the other hand, put me in a great mood. someone called them
my "happy pills"! now, if it wasn't for those damn withdrawals...

It sounds like Serzone is working wonders for you. It must be just
what you needed. Congratulations.

Default Serzone working too well? (down job)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~`
I'm only taking 150 mgs of Serzone and yes, sometimes I think it works too
well! Today I had that "high on life" feeling all day, and felt like I should
chuckle for no reason at all! I'm unemployed, my job was eliminated in August,
so there's no reason for me to feel this good, is what I was thinking and
laughing about.
Do you have side effects? I still have dry mouth, worse lately, and when I
wake up in the AM I feel terribly drugged. Today I decided to go down to 125
mgs to see if they would lesson a bit. My pdoc may not like it, says you
shouldn't change doses haphazardly, but I've been at 150 since April, so I'll
stay at 125 for a white if I still feed good.
-The side effects that I have is a bit of fatigue, a hard time getting
up in the morning, some short-term memory loss and some difficulty
concentrating. But that may be from the 750mg/day Depakote or 300mg/day
Seroquel I take along with the Serzone. But I know Serzone is somewhat
relaxy-sedating. I don't have dry mouth and I don't feel drugged.
It's really great to hear people relating how much better they feel
from taking Anti-depressants. It's amazing that a chemical can make
you like yourself better and permit you to really enjoy life. And the
great thing about is that it has totally positive affects on everyone
you interact with. Marvelous.
Default Discontinuation of Serzone-5HT2 (nefazodone) by BMS (malaise gastrointestinal anorexia)
The info at rxlist.com is more informative and less frightening.
http://rxlist.com/cgi/generic/nefaz.htm
WARNING
Cases of life-threatening hepatic failure have been reported in
patients treated with SERZONE.
The reported rate in the United States is about 1 case of liver
failure resulting in death or transplant per 250,000 - 300,000
patient-years of SERZONE treatment. The total patient-years is a
summation of each patient’s duration of exposure expressed in years.
For example, 1 patient-year is equal to 2 patients each treated for 6
months, 3 patients each treated for 4 months, etc. (See WARNINGS.)
Ordinarily, treatment with SERZONE should not be initiated in
individuals with active liver disease or with elevated baseline serum
transaminases. There is no evidence that pre-existing liver disease
increases the likelihood of developing liver failure, however,
baseline abnormalities can complicate patient monitoring.
Patients should be advised to be alert for signs and symptoms of liver
dysfunction (jaundice, anorexia, gastrointestinal complaints, malaise,
etc.) and to report them to their doctor immediately if they occur.
SERZONE should be discontinued if clinical signs or symptoms suggest
liver failure (see PRECAUTIONS: Information for Patients). Patients
who develop evidence of hepatocellular injury such as increased serum
AST or serum ALT levels ³ 3 times the upper limit of NORMAL, while on
SERZONE should be withdrawn from the drug. These patients should be
presumed to be at increased risk for liver injury if SERZONE is
reintroduced. Accordingly, such patients should not be considered for
re-treatment.
Serzone nearly killed me.
The Canadian Ban on Serzone following up on in being pulled from the
European Market has increased pressure on the FDA to BAN Serzone
....IMMEDIATELY.
I guess you consider other peoples injuries or deaths from Serzone
collateral damage.so long as it helped somebody somewhere, eh?
