Default Thyroid replacement and time

I changed pharmacies for my medications, and I notice on my Synthroid
bottle, " take on an empty stomach one hour before breakfast". How
important is this timing?
I have been on Synthroid for many years and have never taken it that far
in advance of breakfast. Could this be the reason I always feel "punk"
in the mornings?

Hugh

The website for levoxyl (another synthetic t-4) says 30 minutes.

I take mine first thing on rising, do my morning duties, then eat and
take the other vitamins and stuff about thirty minutes later.

I've only been on the stuff a month now (since thyroidectomy), but had
good blood tests last week and the week before when checked.

Hi Hugh
I live in England and take thyroxine, I was also told to take it on an
empty stomach. So have always done this, also told to take at the same time
each day or within 2hrs. of the time.My problem was sorted straight away as
soon as the correct doseage was found. All my symptons went, and I feel
fine.So it is worth trying it. Either it is when you take it that matters,or
I have a very good Doctor.( actually my Doctor is very good )
Good Luck with it, hope
you soon feel alot better.
Sandy
