Default Barium "stone" in rectal stump (colon enema)

About 2 years ago they did a barium enema into my rectal stump to see
if they had the option of reconnecting my colon. Apparently all the
barium did not drain out and has now hardened to a stone like stool
that will not pass. What can I do to break it up and expel it? What
is a good option?

Your doctor can dialate the **** opening and inject some mineral oil
into the rectum. Depending on the size, you should be able to pass it.

You could also try injecting a stool softener. ( A baby ear syringe
might help to inject the fluid )

If you have an ET nurse in your area, she might be able to help you.

Just some thoughts.....good luck!!!

Hi, ileostomate since 1983 here.

Yes, what the other user posted. Go see the doctor.

But I must tell you I was seriously tempted to post the advice from
the constipated mathematician, namely that he worked it out with a
pencil.

(runs for dear life...)
