Default Brad:Medication (grieving heart)

Brad,
I'm sorry your wife died. There is no pain llike the one you are
experiencing now. I know, six years ago my husband died trying for a heart
transplant. He was 44.

Brad, I took (and still take) Prozac. It has been a blessing to my healing
process. In the beginning it was the only thing that helped me find peaceful
moments of remembrance and healing. Later it began bringing the sun back
into my day. Today, I can feel the sadness, cry and return to remembering
happy moments while enjoying today. I smile, giggle and laugh again. It took
a long time to get to this point. I think it would have taken longer without
my medication. Now, I don't care if I staay on it the rest of my life. It
hasn't interfered with my grieving. It has helped me grieve.
We all heal in our own way and on our own schedule. There is no time table
or manual on how to do it correctly. Sometimes I wished there had been. The
sad days will get further apart with time. But for today I encourage you to
take your medications, recognize each tear as a tribute to your love and a
sign of your healing. Be patient with yourself.
