Brendens in ICU at Hospital (down stomach heart abdomen)
As I type this, I am tired and a wreck.
After Bren came home from hosp, we took him back that
night, because he had a high fever. (last week)
They didnt do much but take his blood and send him home.
They didnt even give him antibiotics when he left the hospital.
I questioned that, for the 'just in case'. IMO, when you have
surgery, you take antibiotics 'in case' an infection develops.
For the past week and half, he has still been in pain. The Dr.
said its because his muscles are healing. He has had no appetite
and again that was chalked up to 'he isnt active', blah blah.
Finally today we told the surgeon we are coming in, because his
scar (incision area) is raised a bit and somethings not right.
WELL, they did a CT scan, Xrays, Blood work, and his body is
POISONED.
He had emergency surgery this afternoon, and my poor little
boy has tubes thru his nose to his stomach, 2 tubes coming
out of his abdomen attached to a bag that is taped onto him.
He is on a Morphine drip. Another IV. AND I AM SO ANGRY AT THE HOSPITAL AND
THE INSURANCE COMPANY FOR PUTTING HIM THRU THIS.
If they hadnt sent him home ONE DAY AFTER SURGERY, while he
still had a temp and was vomiting, they would have seen this, ... I mean
the kid had a temp and couldnt keep food down, but they were told
by Blue Cross that after an Appy surgery send home after 24 hours.
( BUT MY CHILD WAS ILL-VOMITING AND FEVER) I am soooo angry.
He keeps asking me, "am I going to die?". Breaks my heart, and I tell
him, "NO you are not, that is why you are here at the hospital, so they
can make you all better".
He is a VERY scared and sick little boy.
And I am a very scared and worried mother.
My best to everyone,
Debbie
