Default Canadians (and others) - Experience with Bextra? (down)

Hi, ASAers and ASCPers,

my name is Aniko, and I am a lurker/occasional poster in these groups.

I have been volunteering for The Arthritis Society, and have recently
joined the Arthritis Consumer Team, a patient advocacy group within The
Arthritis Society in Calgary, Alberta. My first assignment involves Bextra.

Our Health Ministry has just turned down insurance coverage for Bextra.
The justification is that it is just a different version of existing
Cox-2 inhibitors (Celebrex, Vioxx) and is therefore not expected to
demonstrate any additional advantages.

I have had a positive experience with Bextra after I had found both
Celebrex and Vioxx ineffective.

Would be willing to share with me your experiences with this drug?

Thank you for your attention and consideration!

Aniko
