Default Cannabis and Cardio Health?

i started working on this issue last year and only stopped when i found
that "there is no there, there" -- even across cultures there is little
variation of that 1.1 percent figure. i guess i'll have to make a
pretty picture of a flat line and add it to my site.

It's legal in Canada to have a peyote plant but not to ingest it
unless I'm Native Canadian and observing my religion. It's legal
(again in Canada) to possess Marijuana if I have a prescription, but
would be illegal to grow my own.

And on other fronts, not illegal, but bad form, to suggest to your
oboe player taking beta-blockers would make for a better performance.

Clear as mud.

here in the *land of the free* you can only possess or use peyote if you
are a member of a specifically recognized and *government approved*
religion. what's that you say? the 1st amendment? it is meaningless.
we now have the "religious freedom restoration act of 1993" -- a law
passed by congress which is curiously enough *prohibited* from taking
such actions by the 1st amendment. oh that's right, i forgot about the
'drugs exception' to the Constitution.

Those homeless people you see talking to themselves on the street are
really secret service agents talking into their microchips.
Most reseach on the subject is contaminated because people are really
talking and making sounds while replying to USENET messages. They just
do not know how many bugs are in the house.

I know the microchip in my back and the bugs planted in my house are
really not worthy. That is why the secret service called me crazy after
they kidnapped and drugged me in 1982.

There really is no legal representation.

I think this is true - I found one article that found increasing rates among
Scandanavian women - and evidently - this caused quite a stir. The
researchers decided that the change in rate was due to changes in
diagnosis - NOT an underlying change in the rate of the disease. So,
apparently - if rates were changing - the psychiatric community would be all
over it...

exactly! yet, there is not much more than cricket noises outside of the
small number of "researchers" being given federal money to prove that
marijuana is dangerous. jesus! i wonder how much could have been
accomplished with all the money wasted on demonizing marijuana.

Under federal law this is true. Under state law, this is not true in Alaska.
The Alaska State Supreme Court has reiterated that private personal possession
of personal-use amounts (which I think has been defined as four ounces or
less, IIRC) at home is legal under the Alaska State Constitution.

In California and some other states it is legal for a medical marijuana user
to possess a certain amount of marijuana under state law. The exact amount
varies.

This is true - but it still means that as a technical matter - marijuana
posession is illegal in all 50 states, with the exception of the handful of
people who got a medical exemption from a Federal judge. BTW - does anyone
know if there's anyone left in that group ? And why don't defense lawyers
bring that group into evidence when the government tries to argue that
there's no accpted medical uses for marijuana ?

I forgot one thing. Under federal law this is true except for about half-a-
dozen people who get federally grown marijuana legally through the
Compassionate Use Program (which stopped accepting new patients under either
the first Bush or Reagan -- I think it was the first Bush).

Of course, these people can only legally possess the federally grown marijuana
that they are supplied by the federal government.
