Welcome new readers!

This do***ent represents a mutual agreement between active participants on
alt.support.crossdressing. It contains guidelines and information we hope
you will find helpful.


PURPOSE

alt.support.crossdressing exists to provide a supportive and informative
environment for crossdressers. You do not need to be a crossdresser to
post here. Anyone can post to this newsgroup so long as they follow the
guidelines in this charter.


ON-TOPIC

Articles posted to this newsgroup should be about crossdressing, about
transgender-wide issues relevant to crossdressing or about the
newsgroup itself.


OFF-TOPIC

This newsgroup is not designed to meet any of the needs of people who live
or aspire to live structurally in the gender opposite that assigned at
birth. This is not the place to discuss crossliving, ***-change or
***-change related issues. There are other newsgroups where these
conversations are on-topic.


DISALLOWED

Do not use this newsgroup for any of the following:

Condemnations of transgendered people or their lifestyles.

Personal attack, defamation, insult or innuendo. (Flaming)

***ual ***-ons or erotic descriptions of ***ual acts.

Commercial or personal advertising.

Transmitting fiction or ****ography.

Transmitting "binaries" (pictures, music, zip files, etc.).


ANNOUNCEMENTS AND POINTERS

The general "no advertising" rule notwithstanding, the following are
allowed:

In each on-topic article you may include a two line (150 char.) pointer
to a website. The contents of that website are not relevant, so long
as the pointer itself does not violate the Charter. (This does not
allow you to disguise advertising as message content.)

Monthly invitations to supportive resources such as websites, mailing
lists, other newsgroups, BBSs, Chats etc. are allowed.

Announcements of supportive conferences, conventions or rallies of
interest to transgendered people can be posted as needed.


ENFORCEMENT

You are expected to use common sense. Should you receive a letter from
someone complaining that you are breaking the rules, please try to resolve
the matter with them in a civil manner.

Consistently ignoring the rules of this newsgroup can result in complaints
filed with your internet service provider.


COMMON SENSE

Since this is an unmoderated discussion forum, many posters may exhibit
bizarre or abusive behaviour. The simplest way to deal with them is by
completely ignoring their presence. Most news readers can be set to
automate this process via kill files and message filters. (See your
newsreader's help files for instructions.)

Since there is no central controlling authority, it is difficult to assure
that a message actually comes from the person who is listed as the sender.
Please exercise common sense in judging the person behind the words. In
general, if a message seems wildly out of character, it should be deemed
suspect and should be ignored.

Crossposting of articles sometimes leads to angry retorts (flames). In
general it is best to respond only to the newsgroup where the article is
most pertinent. Please check each message to see where you are sending
your words before posting.

If someone does get under your skin and you feel the urge to attack
(flame) them please exercise good judgement and don't send the message you
write. Flaming only heightens the anger on a newsgroup and results in hard
feelings between people who might otherwise become friends. In extreme
cases people have lost access to the internet because of flaming.

simply some thing he made up. Any idiot can post anything on Usenet
and Lyle is no exception. His history of trolling this group is well
do***ented at http://www.trannytrolls.us

P.S. Lyle will now claim that the Charter was changed by some vote he
took.....fortunately Lyle's votes do not count much with regard to
Useent convention - the Charter remains as it alwas has - as Rosalind
created it. Lyle is free to create his own newsgroup but somehow I
think Archimedes Plutonium has a slightly better chance at it.
