You mentioned that you'd avoid pancreatis if you can. How do you do
that? I had gall bladder problems and that was mentioned...hear it's
bad - what's it like?

Hi Susan,
Well, I meant that I would not take Imuran anymore since it causes
pancreatitis in me. I suppose I couldn't avoid it if I got it for some
other reason.
The main symptoms I had was severe back pain, vomiting and extreme weakness.
I showed up at my docs and he told the person that had brought me to drive
down the street and get me to emergency and he would call ahead to have me
adnmitted. I can tell you that if you have it you are really, really sick
and feel horrible, I really was frightened the second time when it lasted
so long. I had extreme abdominal pain with it also. They juiced me up with
morphine immediately. It is miserable. My suggestion......avoid it at all
costs <g>

I've gone off Imuran for the same reason. Although they don't if I have
Pacreatitis or not. It seems they have to open you up to be sure.

That's true John, but the symptoms usually are pretty dramatic and give them
a pretty good idea that it is pancreatitis. Since Imuran tends to create
Acute pancreatitis it would be a bit of overkill to open you up to be 100%
lol. We get opened enough.
