Default Done! (abdomen)

Well, I just got back!
It was so easy, my biggest regret is working myself up beforehand.

The humiliation was minimal. The nurses left the room before anything
was exposed. It was just me and the doctor, and he did all the prep.

Locating the vas was uncomfortable, but not painful. The injection
was nothing. In fact, I think it hurts more when they draw blood from
my arm.

The numbness hits almost immediately, and he was done with the left
side before I even knew what was going on.

Start to finish was 15 minutes.

The novacaine is wearing off now, and I feel a dull aching in my lower
abdomen, so I'll pop some Vicodin.

Congratulations! I'm glad it went well for you.

Take things easy this weekend, and don't forget to wear that jockstrap!

Please keep us posted on how things are going.

By the way. I'm wearing a jock strap, but it's really tight. In
fact, I think half of my discomfort is from that.

I have snug boxer briefs. Do you think that will be enough support?

Not bad. As I think I said, I'm nothing to write home about AND I'm sure the nurse had
seen it all before, so it wasn't really any of my concern.

Just don't jump. They had to jab me twice.

Smooth. The doc had to double up on the freezing before I stopped feeling anything. That's
why I jumped; I can be VERY sensitive.

Best wishes.

If they are snug, probably. The guys out on alt.support.jock-strap were very helpful to
me when I came to them with all my stupid questions. You see, I had never worn one before.
I think back to the time - I wore a protective cup (I had to ask which way was "up") so my
two year old didn't whack me where or kick me there if I picked her up (she's almost 5
now). She saw the cup, and tried putting it on her head, calling it a "hat". I'd love to
tell her that someday.

More than likely. Whatever makes you feel comfortable is probably the best
thing to wear, but I would avoid really loose underwear such as boxers for
the moment.

A jockstrap is the standard "prescription" in this situation. If you
are using the standard 3" waistband style and are experiencing
discomfort, you might want to try a "jock light", the 1 inch waistband
swim/jog style. I am also sensitive in that area and have to wear
support playing sports, and have always found these to be more
comfortable.

I forgot to ask my doctor if it's okay to use the hot tub. Anyone
know?

I don't see why not.

I was told to wait at least a week to go into any tub or pool, that'll
give enough time for the cut to heal.

I tell ya, once I got the OK to hit the tub, I was in there every day.
