body is a mess.

today is the first day at the computer in over a week. i have 200
unread emails

i'm taking some vacation time next week....hopefully i'll get some
rest. (and get my shopping finished!!)

Merry Christmas to all of you and a happy, healthy New Year.

Hi Ricki,
How was your chiropractic experience? I have been treated by a
chiropractor several times and they did wonders for my pain, especially
in the neck, shoulders, and back. It baffles me how they can do this
with what seems to be such simple moves, and it works!
The last time I went to a chiropractor was after I was in a car
accident several years ago in Austin, Texas. My car was totally wiped
out after a girl ran a red light and hit me (she was busy talking on her
cell phone & didn't notice the red light). I had such pain that I was
skeptical that the chiropractor could fix it, but it was covered by the
girl's insurance company so it was worth a try. After about 8 visits for
"adjustments" I was Fixed.
I hope that it helps you too.

It was a great experience. I'm pleasantly surprised. He found a four
degree curvature of my lower spine. That along with a childhood
injury and fibromyalgia are all contributing to my pain.

<nodding> I know! I'm impressed. I'm also impressed by just how
much he knows about fibro, etc. My pcp doc was just throwing meds at
my problems; this guy, I think, is working on *fixing* the problems.
With fibro, there are always flares, but I'm thinking this guy will
have them down to a minimum. It's like discovering Disneyland or something!

ouch! I'm sorry that happened to you but glad it's better now.

Thanks...me too! <fingers crossed>

Hi Ricki,
I'm so glad that this was good for you! I hope that you have set up
some kind of an appointment schedule because it usually takes more than
one visit but the results are well worth it.
Pain by itself is depressing. It saps your energy and makes you feel
bad all over, and if this is always present it seriously impedes
enjoying life. We need to do whatever is helpful to ourselves, and
sometimes it doesn't come from an rx.
I am sick and tired of pain! Fortunately it is not a daily thing
anymore. Alot of my problems had to do with the people I was involved
with and around all the time. Even though they didn't know it, they were
bad influences on my health. When I'm stressed-out or tense my neck
starts to ache, and then it gets stiff. Then the headache comes. When
something really nasty comes up, like the betrayal of a trusted person,
I throw up. When it is gloomy outside that is how I feel inside.
How many songs have been written about these things? I'll have to do
a google search on this!

Default erk... (heart)

Merry Christmas alittle late Ricki, we went to Nevada to family for Christmas.
Got home last night totally physically and emotionally exhausted with Mom being
sick with this congestive heart failure.
I hope the chiropractor helps. I've heard that folks with fibro shouldn't go
to chiropractors?

Default erk... (depression down fibromyalgia)

hi!

i've had 4 treatments/adjustments now.

my pain level has gone from a "10" (i could not function), down to
about a 3/4.

i'm SOO much better. i will see him again next tuesday.

only slept 4 hours last night and that's bad news for a fibromyalgia
patient. doesn't do much for depression, either

i would absolutely love to get to the point where i don't have daily
pain, but i'm too pessimistic to even begin to think that

i bought a super-duper whirlpool machine for the bathtub...it is
wonderful.

i fear i may grow webbing between my toes

Sorry to hear about your mom, Cynthia.

The chiropractor I have found firmly believes in fibromyalgia (a lot
of health care professionals don't), and he's very gentle. my neck
was out of line today and he popped it. it sounded scary, but it
wasn't.

he also popped my back.

he's very knowledgeable on fibro and even does accupuncture! he's not
mentioned that to me, but i saw a pamphlet in his office...gonna grab
it and read it soon.

a friend from church has very very horrible fibro, and she's done
accupuncture for about 3 weeks now. she's doing incredibly well.
it's amazing.

glad you made it home safely,
Ricki
