Someone posted here a while ago about ginger-flavored Altoids, and I've been
on a mission to find them ever since. No stores near me carried them,
apparently - UNTIL TONITE! DH asked me to stop at a 7-11 so he could get
his cancer sticks, and I asked him to check for ginger Altoids - and they
had them! I was beginning to think they were a white whale that didn't
really exist.

Anyway, they're good! Very spicy flavor, and they keep a burn going in my
mouth and throat that is even stronger than the cinnamon ones, almost
satisfies the oral craving for a smoke. I'll be back at the 7-11 tomorrow
buying out their stock.

They're actually a product of the Philip Morris company-- who make damn near
everything we eat, drink, wear or rub on ourselves, it seems.
They are highly flavored, small, hard, disc-shaped candies that come in a
tin box. They make them in cinnamon, peppermint, wintergreen, ginger, and
citrus. Many of us consumed thrice our body weight in them when we first
quit. The "Curiously Strong" mints saved many a quitter in the early days, I
dare say.

Ginger Altoids, while it is the newest flavor to hit the market, oddly
enough was also my stage name during my career as an exotic dancer...

And you can use the little tin boxes for all sorts of things when the candy is
gone.

I like the Ginger Altoids best of all. I think they're the strongest ones.
That ginger will just about blow your head off when you get to ****ing on it
real hard.

Ginger altoids are FABULOUS! But they are indeed very hard to find.
So far, Cost Plus (an import store) is the only place in the Sacramento
area that carries them. That I've seen, that is. I don't go to
Stop n Rob stores like 7-11 much since quitting smoking tho :->
