Default HCG in the UK (testes vasectomy)

This is the first time I have posted to this NG.
Have posted quite a bit to alt.support.vasectomy

I am 38 year old, living in the UK.
I had a Vasectomy in 1995, and since then had PVP (Post Vasectomy Pain)
in right testes. I also starting having ED problems in 1998.

Blood tests from 1998 show low-testosterone. Right at the bottom of
the UK reference range (about 8/9/10 nmol/L).
UK ref range for "normal": 10 -> 30 nmol.L

Have used Viagra since 1998.
I have been on and off T-Replacement via Sustanon since then, which seemed
to help the ED, although still need to use Viagra most of the time.

I had a Vas Reversal in Nov 2002, and this fixed the pain problem, however
ED problems and low-testosterone continued.

I managed to convince my UK Endo to try me on HCG.

Last week I had a HCG test.

Day 1: Bloodtest: 5nmol/L of T, then 2000 units of HCG.

Day 3: Bloodtest: 11.5nmol/L of T, then 2000 units of HCG.

Day 5: Bloodtest: 13.6nmol/L of T.

I felt fantastic the whole week.
Also even this week I still feel good, even though I have had no HCG or
T-Replacement.

Next step, is to see my Endo again in a few weeks to discuss longer term
useage of HCG. He has already agreed in principle to this, just need to see
him to discuss dosage level and frequency and how to self inject.

What do others on this NG think about the bloodtest results ?
and any advise ?

thanks,

Dave (miami_vice_1999)

A couple of questions:

* Do you feel better while being on HCG than while being on TRT?
* What was your T level while being on TRT?

Answers:

I was only on HCG for one week as a "test".
I actually felt better than I had for a very long time and that
includes while
I have been on T-Replacement previously.

On Sustanon (bi-weekly injection), my T-levels range from 28nmol/L
down to
8nmol/L. 28nmol/L is after 2/3 days after the injection, then it
drops down to about 8nmol/L.

After T-replacement for 5 years on and off, I feel that my balls have
shrunken
and gone soft (confirmed by a Urologist).

On the HCG 1 week test, my balls got "marginably" larger and I had
more
"feeling" in them. Libido was best its been for ages and so were
erections.

Thanks for your reply. It's interesting that you are feeling better on HCG,
although it's producing a lower T level than when you were on TRT. I wonder
what could be explaining that? Should the resulting T level be all that
matters in the end, or is there more to it?

Maybe it's because you have more "feeling" in your testicles on HCG, as you
described it. Since I've lost much feeling in my groin/testicles myself, I'm
curious to hear if HCG might be able to bring that feeling back. I'm talking
about a drive/***ual spark in the groin region. Gradually I've lost that
feeling, and nowadays it feels kinda numb "down there".

Also, didn't you ever ask you physician to have more frequent TRT
injections, in order to avoid having the T level go as low as 8 nmon/L?

My Endo stated that the Sustanon injections should last 3 to 4 weeks.
He has never come across any man who needed them as frequently as
every
2 weeks. He is reluctant to increase the frequency further as he
doesn't know
if it may cause any "problems".

He did saw that if the HCG didn't work, he suggested I go on T-Gel
(just been made available in the UK). Anyway, I will be following the
HCG route for now.
