What ever happened to pull yourself up by your boot straps? This medicare
budget bill that is going to pass is a very sad day for America! This is
going to create a tremendous deficit in the future. Anyone with any sense
of fiscal responsibility can see it. All the financial
magazines/commentators are talking how its a bad idea but "NO" all the old
people like it because they say "Gimme Gimme Gimme" and to hell with all the
younger generations that have to pay for it.

One thing thats never heard mentioned but is obviously going to happen is
that competitiveness with drug prices is going to come to almost a complete
stand still. If your not old and living off the dole your going to have to
start paying more for drugs. There is not as big of a reason for the drug
companies to be as competitive when the government picks up the tab.

I consider myself Republican more than Democrat but today I can't consider
myself neither. Republicans are a bunch of spending pussies now! Can't
think of better words.

I'm just about at AARP age and I have voted in every single local and national
election I was ever eligible for but one (had just moved into town and knew no
candidates on the local slate--but I was registered!), starting with the first
presidential election to allow the 18 yr old vote in 1972. I learned this civil
responsibility from my parents and my grandparents, and I have taught my kids
to do the same....but they think, unlike the OP.

Seniors are acting like good American s -getting whatever they can. And if
hurts someone else, or someone else has to pay -that's their problem..Ask
the conservatives on this board,. they'll tell you " greed is good ". Look
at the energy bill-loaded with goodies for anyone connected with
energy/farmers/coal/insurance companies-you name it, it's there. Then there
are subsidies and all kinds of tax breaks for corporations-and of course tax
breaks for wealthy.If everyone else is getting theirs why shouldn't
seniors?Business gets theirsby giving money to the politicians. Seniors do
it the old fashioned way-they vote.
