I saw that someone posted a negative message concerning the CancerTreatment Centers of America.....
I honestly don't know that they are (a viable alternative). Yours to discover I guess.

Dr. Roda said "They are a commercial group trying to standardize good oncologic care.If your local oncologist
(medical or radiation) belongs to this company,I would have no hesitation about using him/her. However, I
don't think
it makes sense to travel long distances to CTC if you have competent
cancer care in your community."
As long as your mother's aware of this.
which boards? not all of them were specified.
Dietiticians are available locally, probably through your local cancer centre.
Ph.D? What would I want with that?
viable for them, but the question would remain can they do anything different than would/could be done locally
AND would it make an appreciable difference in cancer remission, stopping the cancer from growing (and mets),
quality of life etc.
These answers I don't know. Do you send her files down and then they decide and then arrange for her and you
to fly there? How long are you there? Is your mother well enough to do this. Is there a battery of tests?
(or they look at what's been tested already)? Do they reject some patients, based on their type of cancer or
stage?
I don't know who else comeented, because I can't find it in the archives, I think I said "advertising can be
very powerful".
That's not negative about them, it's fact.
Let us know how things go and whether your mother felt the time, expense was worth it. I'm sure others' here
reading are interested too. J
