Impotence and dystonia (dystonia viagra stress depression impotence)
Here's another old post I'm resurrecting:
Impotence. There are different types: psychogenic, organic,
idiopathic, and neurogenic for example.
With neurogenic it would seem that misfiring neurotransmitters do not
send impulses to all the penis. Thus part of the penis is not aroused
(deadened) and Thus erection is short-term. Also some - i.e. the tip -
of the penis is insensitive to oral activities and thus arousal too is
limited.
This has been described as neurogenic and is currently being
investigated in the UK as being a by-product of dystonia - where the
patient is not taking any Medication that may also be the cause.
I am waiting for DMRF to tell me if there has been any research on
this.
This is all relevant to as viagra is being seen as the wonder pill for
impotence BUT if the cause is neurogenic then it will have little
effect and the depression - from being unable to have erections and
also from being further confirmed as being on a of a minority - will
increase causing stress and worsening the symptoms of dystonia.
Viagra will probably not be available in UK until 1999 except through
expensive private patient hood and product licences etc.
