From: Chuck NOSPAMfalkland@sbcglobal.net Date: Mon, Feb 2, 2004 5:13 PM Message-id: <b4zTb.35920$P%1.28425063@newssvr28.news.prodigy.c om> Klonopin Increases Depression? I have severe anxiety and depression (not sure what kind). I am taking: 450 mgs of Effexor XR 4 mgs of Klonopin 60 mgs of Buspar My pdoc just started me on lithium 150 twice a day two weeks ago, and just increased to 300 mg twice a day. The pdoc mentioned adding lithium could reduce my anxiety. I mentioned to the pdoc to increase the Klonopin because I am still having a lot of anxiety. The pdoc said if it was increased it would increase my depression. Has anyone every heard of this before? Chuck Yes, its well known that all benzos like klonopin can worsen depression. Its a strong central nervous system depressant drug. Eric "Psychic derangements may appear when corticosteroids are used, ranging from euphoria, insomnia, mood swings, personality changes and severe depression, to frank psychotic manifestations." Direct quote from prednisone monograph insert. |
