Default Levels of Fear (anxiety)

Could you give a list the things you find most difficult to do socially, and
rate them out of 10 for the anxiety they produce.

Default Levels of Fear (anxiety)

1. Heights when I drive top of list. I went on top of city hall and I was
petrified.I think its my fear of heights, loss of control and dying. I am
afraid car will give out, or will hit me someone will push me if I was
standing say at the city hall tower .Yet say I am walking or jogging , and
no one is around I feel very little fear, cause I am in control, but by and
large fear of height,
2 Nightclubs, fear of control here too, fear of rejection maybe?
3. Fear of going anywhere totally informal and Inside like a pool hall, or
a football game or bar (loss of control among people I feel don't have the
same issues I had ironed out)
Thats it , how about you answering your own question

1. Level of fear ( not sure why)

* going to a public place (restaurant, bar, movie) alone - 7 - bringing a
book to "hide" in helps somewhat.
* being the last person to arrive at a meeting - 9 - i'd rather miss the
meeting entirely, and often do.
* being intoxicated in public - 8 - i think this is a control issue. it's
weird, because it didn't start to bother me until recently.
* being made to look stupid in a public forum - 10 - no idea why i keep
reading usenet. i must be a masochist. :-)
* i'm afraid people will judge me for the contents of my grocery cart, and i
hide the "bad" food under the healthy stuff - 8 - yeah, i know that's a
weird one.
* but mostly i'm terrified of becoming a normal middle aged suburban
yuppie - 10. ;-)

Default Levels of Fear (panic anxiety disability)

With 10 being a severe panic attack, I would
probably rate my social anxiety levels as:

5 - asking a woman out on a date, actual first
date, public speaking, disability reviews.

3 - socializing with strangers who don't
understand anxiety disorders, awkward
misunderstandings, travel, interacting with
unfamiliar doctors or therapists.

1 - socializing with strangers who do
understand anxiety disorders, socializing
with family and friends.

Best Wishes,
Arthur

Default Levels of Fear (anxiety down)

Leaving the house without my dogs. 9.
Leaving the house at night without my dogs. 10.
Going out to get essentials like bread or milk and meeting the perfectly
friendly couple with the gorgeous gsd-akito cross who live three doors
down and having to make small talk. 8. (This is somewhat lessened if the
dog is with one of them cos I relate to dogs much better than I do
people, so I can chat about our dogs.)
Going out for a meal in a posh restaurant (something I am doing with my
bf and a friend in a month or so for my friend's birthday). Got to be an
11 out of 10 !!!!
Having to go somewhere, usually to hospital in London, on the train. I
am terrified of travelling on trains. 10.
Basically if I have to leave the house it's a 9-10 situation.
Answering the telephone to someone other than my bf or my ex husband -
8.

I'm not sure that these situations produce anxiety as such - but I just
don't do them unless I *absolutely* have to. I avoid doing them at all
costs. When I do do them I get it over with as quickly as possible. It's
like I have more a social *aversion* than an anxiety.
