I second that. I tried acupuncture for a year as our insurance at that time
covered it however, I really found no help with it other than the rest while
laying there... in fact the drive to and from usually did me in. :-(

Default MED: Acupuncture (acupuncture)

Hi All,
I used acupuncture at different times. I feel that it
has helped reduce
my pain, both emotional and physical. I believe that the results are
basically
temporary and can help one through a tough period.

Take Care,

Mike

Default MED: Acupuncture (tendonitis)

I've used it off and on over several years. It won't cure CFIDS, but it
can help with specific symptoms and overall energy level. I did need to
go every week or two weeks to keep up the effect, though. It
specifically helped me for recurrent headaches, digestive problems,
painful joints, tendonitis, and the effects of perimenopausal hormone
fluctuations. I now go a few times a year, when other treatments
haven't worked.

One thing that I've noticed is that I got much better results when the
acupuncturist (if a full Doctor of Oriental Medicine) also prescribed
Chinese herbs for my condition. I got an increase in overall stamina
and endurance from a formula called Minor Bupleurum Formula.

Hope this helps!

Default MED: Acupuncture (sciatica acupuncture)

I also use acupuncture and find that it gives me a feeling of well
being, it helps with energy and boosts my immune system. I have also
used it when my sciatica acts up, works almost right away and I don't
have to take any meds that make me groggy. My husband uses accupunture
for headaches, sinus and migrane. With traditional acupuncture, I would
go most every week.

You do not get the same results from all acupuncturists, be sure to look
at their qualifications and training. sue

Hello.

Do you mind if I ask if your sciatica is related to CFS or not? THanks.

BTW, I used acupuncture also ditto with the reponses re: results working
short-term.

Default MED: Acupuncture (sciatica)

My sciatica has nothing to do with CFS. I fell on the ice and damaged a
couple of disks in my back, many years before I had CFS. sue

Default MED: Acupuncture (acupuncture down)

Yes, a few years after coming down with it I had acupuncture regularly for
around a year. It didn't cure me, but I feel it was very instrumental in
getting rid of the very debilitating symptoms of my early years.

Acupuncture balances the energy in your body's meridians. Imbalance causes
disease and slows or prevents healing, so it's important to do this. For
me, however, it wasn't enough.
