Hey everyone,

Just wanted to let you know that Dave was in the path of Hurricane Ike
and he called to let me (and y'all) know that he and his wife are ok.

They do not have power and may not have power for a couple of months,
but they are safe.

They had been worried about flooding, but no water in the house, which
they are thankful for.

I'm sure he would appreciate everyone's good thoughts and prayers.

that's what he said Sphinx. In watching the news coverage here in
West Texas, they are saying 1/2 million people are without any power
at all in the Galveson/Houston areas.

Dave told me he did not have time to get his hand-cranked generator
going, but that they had plenty of supplies, batteries, food, etc.

Also, his wife's office has a generator, so I would imagine he could
go there to shower/shave, though he didn't specifically say that.

I'll keep you posted as I hear things.

I hope things are continuing to be alright. I'm so far inland, here in
Texas that all we've got was rain storms, but that was a whole
different thing for those on the coastal areas of Texas..

the three hurricanes we got here, power was out no more than three
days.

I have three friends in the Houston/Galveston area. Only one of them
has had their power restored..after 60 hours.
