This is a little long, but I was just diagnosed and have a bunch of
questions. Much appreciation to those who read it all.

Back in the middle of Dec. I had strep, a resistant variant, which caused
severe throat pain and made swallowing optional unless I was eating or
drinking, I took a 7 day course of anitbiotics 3 times because the strep
kept coming back. between Dec 12th and Jan 23rd. First was 500mg amox (given
by urgent care), then Biaxin, and a refill of Biaxin again given by my GP. I
have since gone back to 1000mg of vit. C & a multi-vitamin in hopes of
getting my immune system back to norm.

I went to an ENT (ear nose throat doctor) for stuffiness/cough, etc,
(thought maybe the strep was back again) on Feb 9th. Had a Cat scan done on
Feb 12th. The ENT called me today and said I have a chronic sinus infection
and he can perform a drainage procedure. I decided to hold off on making an
appt. to get some comments/feedback & put some thought into it.

Up until now I have been pretty healthy with only minor allergies (for which
I take OTC claritin). I am hesitant to fix this sinus issue through a
procedure and am wondering what my options are. Homeopathic, naturopathic,
and maybe antibiotic-wise.

My current condition is actually not too bad. I have morning stuffiness with
minimal pain, sometimes a very tolerable sinus headache, scratchy throat
w/slight cough, slightly swollen lymph nodes in my neck, and an occasional
slight jaw/middle ear pain. Again all very tolerable, I occasionally and
intermittently take 600mg of ibuprofen. I have a prescription of Entex
(guafesin, sp?) that was given to me during the strep. situation, for which
I am now using to treat my stuffiness on a twice a day basis. I live in
Arizona (Mesa/Tempe/Phoenix) if climate has any bearing. I can usually get
some stuff out when I blow my nose, and can hock some pretty good loogies to
get stuff off the back of my throat.

I read something about irrigating with colloidal silver (and also taking
internally), on a website called MesoSilver, where there are many
testimonials from users of the product & a writeup by a doctor. I am
wondering if this stuff is a snake oil? What about Oil of Oregano? I have
taken that internally occasionally (during trips to mexico where I could not
avoid drinking the water) and it kept me from getting intestinal problems. I
know I can't irrigate with Oil of Oregano, but what about putting some drops
on a cloth & breathing in deeply through the nose getting the vapors in.
From what I know about OoO it is very antiseptic & kills only bad stuff.
What about taking a genpak 7 day steroid course to help with drainage &
clear stuff out?

Thank you for any comments/suggestions/help you can offer. I appreciate it
immensely. Looking to head this stuff off at the pass before it gets bad. If
you have any specific questions for me please ask them, I will be following
up on this post frequently.

Worse than snake oil!
Colloidal silver is toxic to the body.
The human body has no mechanism to excrete silver. It just builds up in
the body, like lead poisoning.
Excessive silver buildup will lead to the condition known as argyria,
which is incurable.

Colloidal silver is the most DANGEROUS "alternative" remedy on the
market. It should have been taken off the market even before ephedra.
