Default "Non-specific colitis"? What is that? (down cipro)

Hi! Thank you very much for the reply. Do you know how long these
infections last? I came down with this on March 30th, I got better on my own
around April 20th and was fine until May 1st where the symptoms all came back
and I got steadily worse (to the point of not being able to walk straight
anymore) until I got the Cipro and then the sulfasalazine. Now I'm at a
plateau of feeling fair most of the time for the past 2 weeks with pain and
swelling only after doing any strenuous activity or sitting upright.

It's possible you keep getting reinfected. At this point, you might
want to get checked out by an infectious-disease specialist.
Sulfasalazine might help with symptoms but probably won't wipe out any
infection, esp. if it's starting to become antibiotic-resistant. At
this point, you could need multiple antibiotics, and an especially
prolonged course of them, to overcome any possible resistance.

Or the pathologist was wrong and you do have an IBD, in which case you
need to have your slides re-read by another pathologist, ideally one
who specializes in GI pathology (perhaps at a big university hospital
nearby there might be such a creature?) Good luck.
