Default note... (prednisone)

Of course, I got huge immunesuppression with the chemo; but I've been
off all my lupus drugs for months, and no myositis (muscle inflammation)
at least. My kidneys have done great too; and under a lot of demands!
The doctors actually had to increase a chemo cause my kidneys were
getting rid of it too quickly!

Anyhow, that was ironic, but good, as the cancer doctors were originally
concerned about my kidneys holding up, as a lupie....

I'm on 7.5 mg of prednisone, going down to 5 next week....

G.

Oh Grace
I am just so happy for you!
You have a guardian angel that is watching over you very
carefully!
Take good care of and watch yourself very closely so that you
don't overdo!
I am thrilled re your immune system reaction and your ability to
do without the chemo/immunosuppressants!... Just a low dosage
pred for now and hopefully off of it too?! Wonderful!
Stay well.... prayers for you over the hols and warm blessings
your way for a healthy happy new year. Wishing for peace in the
world and hoping for peace in your heart!
Hugs for you from me, Shelagh

Grace

so happy to see you post. If sometime you don't mind? I would very much
like info on the stem cell.

I have a friend who might be considering it and the more info for her the
better.

I am glad you are feeling much better and sorry you had to go through"hell"
to get better. But I have talked to a lady from Michigan who had it done
also, and she is feeling "wonderful" that last time I talked with her. Now
IF I could find her address again, I could send it to you, but dang I lost
it. IF you want it, I will try to find someone else who knows it for you.
She was featured in a magazine a few years back and had her stem cell done
in Chicago I believe..Not sure on that one but Chicago is the closest here
that does it.

So happy again to see you post. Prayers still being sent to you. God
Bless and Happy Holidays

hugs

This week my 3mg. of Prednisone got increased to 15 for 3 days, 10mg for 3
days, 5mg for 7 days and then back down to 3mg. to see if this helps my RA
flare. I did not get 1hr. of sleep last night because of the increase in
Prednisone. Went to bed at 3:00 am, couldn't sleep, knocked over my water
humifier for my CPAP machine and got everything wet so got up, changed, pj
tops, put towel on my wet bed etc..... I finally got up at 4:30 am after
still not sleeping and knocked over the water again. Then we got a call
from the kids at 6:30 that they needed us to babysit our 20 month old
grandson today; babysitter's son was sick. I was able to put him down for a
nap at 9:20 to about 11:00 and slept during that time. That is all the
sleep I have had since Monday night. Urgh!!! I have a love/hate
relationship with Prednisone... how about you?

LOL... Nettie, I am sorry but your escapades in the night made me
laugh!
I can relate to the whole scenario with the pred hyping you up to
the point of insommnia ~ oh yes indeed... especially up there in
the high numbers.. you will be better once you get down to 5 each
day I think/hope!
Hope you have had fun with grandson and maybe he took your mind
off the whole thing?
Hugs for you and sending sleepy vibes for tonight!

Grace, I am so glad to see you post again. I am happy that the treatments
did their job and you are feeling so very much better. I know how dangerous
the stem cell therapy is. The chemo is hell enough. Take care of yourself my
dear. Our prayers and thoughts have been with you and will continue to be.
Have a good holiday season. Wende

<snip>

((((((((((((((Nettie)))))))))))

Sounds like a rough night! Pain combined with pred sleeplessness,
blech! I actually love pred because it really gave me my life back, but
now I'm having a lot of bruising and I think it's time to get off before
more side effects come rolling in. The worst thing I think with the
higher doses was the horrid sweating. I felt like a pig, all sweaty and
fat, and the nose hair growth, gross!
