It was an unusual one - had the premise of "listening to the
future" - you learn about the past from the stories of the
oldest person you know, so you learn about the future from
the newest born child you can find. Story was about a woman
in a vaiguely Native American low tech future.

Not too far - South Queensferry is just to the north of the city,
hardly even outside the city boundaries.

(not that we are a big city anyway!)

Cool...thanks! As long as they don't have wizards and such. I loathe such
fantasy.

The four sequels to this are very readable too - Partnership, The Ship
Who Searched, The City Who Fought and The Ship Who Won.

You forgot Crystal Line the follow up to Killishandra.

I really enjoyed To Ride Pegasus, Pegasus in Flight, Pegasus in Space
and the Hive series that followed it. I think there are only two of
Anne McCaffrey's book that I haven't read (Stitch In Snow and Get Off
The Unicorn).

I didn't like Powers That Be, Power Lines or Power Play.

Default OT:Anne McCaffrey book (fat)

tonnie, this is what we call a Kightism, in honor of Pat Kight, who
formerly contributed a lot to asm. It's a slip of the fingers that says it
better than the "correct" word would have. Did you really mean
"condemned?" Or was "condamned" deliberate?

Either way, condamned really got the point across! ;-)

No they are not "majick" - not these wizards. They do occasionally
do "magic" however - but not often. It upsets the balance of the
world.
