I have been currently taking 1 tablet of 12.5mg Paxil CR
(controlled-release) each morning for the last 10 days. It's been pretty
tolerable so far. But according to my psychiatrist, I'm supposed to
increase to two tablets during the second week.

I do not want to experience increased side effects with higher doses. Is
there a big improvement in in alleviation of OCD by taking higher doses
than 12.5mg?

I've been doing a lot of research into people's experience with
anti-depressants lately and find that they affect everyone in different
ways. The best thing to do would be to take your doctor's advice and see
for yourself. Just because it may not benefit some other people does not
mean to say it won't benefit you.

I wouldn't worry too much about side affects if you have been able to
tolerate it so far for the last 10 days. Try one day and see how you go.

12 mg is a very, very low dose. I would think you would need two tablets
*minimum* to get any significant relief. I recommend trying the second pill
and see how it goes.
