Some guy named "Fatty Mawson" replied to me directly, but I don't have
his email address. Has anyone heard of this fellow?

Default Please Help Me! Pain and ED - lots of tests, no diagnosis! (celiac carpal tunnel magnesium tumor erection)

I went through this before. The doctor MRI'd my neck and said nothing
on the film could cause my neck pain. Trouble was, he didn't compare
the pinprick exam to the radiological film. He just talked to the
radiologist over the phone. Turned out I had a couple of partially
herniated disks at every location I had severe pain in my neck. I also
had mercury poisoning, TMJ and a couple of other severe problems which
had lowered my pain tolerance/threshold. He missed all of it. Two
years after the MRI, the dentist finally asks to look at the film and
sends me to a great physical therapist who helps me get rid of the
pinched nerves.

I suggest:

1. Check your metabolism. Have you had your testosterone, xLDL or
homocysteine levels checked? There are a variety of metabolic factors
which can either lower you pain threshold or affect your ability to get
an erection. They may work in combination with anatomical damage like a
torn muscle. You haven't mentioned any bloodwork you've had done.

2. Take up swimming or pilates. Pilates can strengthen your abdominal
muscles and help you compensate for any tendon or joint damage.
Swimming will take pressure off your spine.

3. Consider metabolic alternatives to raising your pain threshold. I
posted an article on carpal tunnel in alt.support.celiac several months
back. You should read it. Specifically, acetyl-l-carnitine will help
you get an erection and raise your pain threshold (unfortunately, it can
also make your hair fall out at these high doses). Methyl-B12 and
magnesium have also heen helpful with pain relief. (If your pain is
caused by a tumor, however, throwing a methylator at it might not be
such a hot idea.)
