Default POST OP TWO WEEKS (nasal)

I had surgery on my deviated septum 2 weeks ago. I feel fine, the breathing has improved 100%, my dental problems are gone, but my nasal drip is still there. It seems worse this time! The doctor does not seem overly concerned, but I am.

Any insights, observations, comments would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Post nasal drainage may be unlikey to clear quickly. It is the result of
long-term inflammation in your sinuses. The inflammation may gradually abate
with the better air flow, if you also reduce expsoure to allergens and use
steroid nasal sprays.

Things to which you are allergic: dust, mold, pollen for most of us.

These often contribute significantly to sinus inflammaton.

Default POST OP TWO WEEKS (prognosis nasal)

Dear Don,

Thank you for responding to my e-mail. I am now exactly three weeks post op. There was no turbinate removal, etc. The doctor said I would be suffering for a while longer with the nasal drip. It's not pleasant, but the doctor's prognosis is that I will make a full recovery. He has me irrigating my nose twice a day with Wilson's solution. I am also on Astelin and Nasocort.

I've ead the other posts about hydrogen peroxide flooding, but at thsi point I am still relucatnt to do this.

Thanks again.

Wilson's solution is an irrigation liquid. MY doctor gave it to me, so I've been taking it. It was funny. This past weekend it felt as if everything was clearing up, and then it regressed again. When I spoke to the doctor he just said to take the medication and stick it out for a while longer. As of today, I feel much better again.
