Default Prilosec OTC for more than 14 days?

What if I've had a scope that revealed I didn't have GERD (just over
active proton pumps) and was prescribed Prilosec by my Dr, and have
been taking for several years without any problems. Am I safe in
taking Prilosec OTC beyond the 14 days recommended, or is it in some
way different than the prescribed version? Thanks.

A negative EGD/scope does not necessarily mean you don't have GERD. It just
means you don't have visible esophageal damage from GERD. The only way to
definitively diagnose GERD is with ambulatory esophageal pH testing, or by
direct observation of erosive esophagitis, stricture, or Barrett's
esophagus.
