ADVOCACY, AWARENESS AND MEDIA OPPORTUNITIES

MTV's Fight For Your Rights: Protect Yourself

As part of our annual pro-social Fight For Your Rights campaign, MTV
provides programming that focuses on issues that are of top priority to our
viewing audience- According to a recent poll conducted by MTV & The Kaiser
Family Foundation, ***ual health remains one of the issues young people are
most concerned about.

Our campaign this year, entitled Fight For Your Rights: Protect Yourself has
been airing shows, live specials, and do***entaries that focus on ***ual
health and information regarding STI's. We have found that one of the most
effective ways to drive home the importance of safer *** is by profiling
young people who have experienced first-hand what it is like to contract an
STI. We are currently looking for young people between the ages of 18-25
who have contracted Herpes through ***ual contact, and might be interested
in discussing with us the possibility of being profiled in our show.

All correspondence will remain confidential, and if you would like more
information on the show, it's goals, and our past programming, please feel
free to email me and I will provide you with as much information as I can.

Information on the FFYR campaign can be found at the following link:

Have you ever had an abnormal pap or "high risk" HPV test? You may be
eligible to participate in up to two clinical research studies on cervical
cancer prevention now being conducted at the Universities of California at
Los Angeles and Irvine. This is a two phase study: first, we will test women
with abnormal Pap tests for HPV infection and type their virus; second,
women will be followed for up to six months and women who continue to test
positive for HPV-16 infection may be eligible for a study to test whether
women treated with a vaccine clear their infections faster than do women who
receive placebo (sterile water). Participating in the screening study does
not obligate you to participate in the vaccine trial, even if you are
eligible. However, if you believe that you would never consider
participating in such a trial, you are ineligible for the screening study.

Otherwise, you may be eligible if you:
· Are now 18 to 50 years old
· Have had one or more abnormal Pap tests in the last 12 months
· Have had one or more menstrual periods within the last year
· Are not now pregnant or planning to become pregnant over this next year
· Are not HIV infected
· Have never tested positive for Tuberculosis by skin test (also called "PPD
test")
· Have not received BCG vaccination in your lifetime

If you are interested in being evaluated for this study, you may call our
office at 310-825-0803 to receive a confidential, preliminary screening
evaluation over the phone.

You will not be asked to provide any identifying information during the
phone-screening interview.

Please visit our website for more information on HPV:

Did You Know Stroke is our Nation's 3rd Leading Killer?

Dear Family and Friends,

I apologize that some of you are getting this for the 2nd time. With the
wonderful world of computer I ran into some problem (can you imagine!) So I
had to send this again. If you are REALLY mad, send me a e-mail and I will
add 5 miles to my train schedule next week to make up for it. But this is a
one time offer! (and it's going to cost you....probably a donation!)

Get ready for some shocking news! I am training to walk a 26.2 mile MARATHON
to benefit the American Stroke Association. We all knew I was crazy, so here
is the actual proof!

No, I haven't lost my mind! By joining the American Stroke Association's
Train To End Stroke program, I have a coach, a team, training schedules,
clinics, and a reason that makes this more than a personal goal. I am
helping to raise funds for stroke research, education, and advocacy
programs.

My grandfather, Papa died of a stroke when I was very young, and my Nana had
a mild stroke just last year. So as you can see, this isn't something that
happens to "other people."

The following are some stroke statistics of which you may not be aware...

Every 45 seconds someone suffers a stroke
Every 3.1 minutes someone dies of a stroke
There are 4.4 million stroke survivors
29% of people who have strokes are under age 65.

Over the course of the next 5 months, I will be walking and running hundreds
of miles to prepare. I will also be busy raising thousands of dollars for
the American Stroke Association. I am writing to ask for your support in
this effort through your good thoughts and through your generous
contribution to the American Stroke Association.

I am excited about participating in this event on behalf of many who couldn'
t even walk it due to a stroke. Please join me in reaching the finish line
of my fundraising goal and helping end stroke.

P.S. Although the marathon is not until January 2005, my plan is to have my
fundraising goal met by October. Your tax-deductible contribution, sent as
soon as possible, is greatly appreciated! Every dollar makes a difference
toward stroke research and education. If your company has a matching gift
program, please send me the matching gift form along with your check and
potentially double your donation!
