Default Stomach problems....... (gas-x mylanta anxiety pepcid stomach)

Dear People,

I know it`s commom for anxiety disorders and certain digestive problems to
go hand in hand, ex:, gerd, IBS, etc. I`ve been miserable the last few weeks
with some stomach problems and was wondering if anyone identifies with my
symptoms. I plan on talking to my doctor at my next appt which is this
Thursday. Okay.....here are my annoying symptoms<g>. I always feel bloated
and full even though I eat small meals. I have a sensation that there is a
lump or food stuck in my esophagus. I keep swallowing trying to get rid of
this feeling to no avail. I also seem to be very aware of all the movement
in my GI tract, there seems to be much gurgling, which I can hear and feel.
The most annoying symptom is pressure in my epigastric region that is
relieved by burping. I think I`ve burped more in the last few weeks than in
my whole life. I feel so uncomfortable and have tried gas-x, mylanta and
pepcid with minimal relief. Any thoughts or suggestions? Thanks a bunch

Jackie

Default Stomach problems....... (simethicone diet diabetic)

Jackie: So sorry you've been uncomfortable with GI stuff.

I have lots of problems with bloating too, although less so when I'm
eating properly.

Do you think your relativley new diabetic diet is difficult for your GI
tract to adjust to? Perhaps you are eating less fiber? Sugars help things
move quickly through the ol' system and maybe the sudden lack of sugar is
binding you a bit and making you feel bloated. Perhaps sugar-free Citrucil
(fiber supplement) would help... or maybe you'd just feel more bloated, I
dunno!

Stomach meds with simethicone, like Mylanta, help relieve bloat.

Hope you will hear from others.

Default Stomach problems....... (eye)

Jackie, two of the symptoms you mentioned that caught me eye are:

I always feel bloated

a

and

The most annoying symptom is pressure in my epigastria region that is

in

I'm no doctor so take this for what it's worth, but those two can be
symptoms of acid reflux or GIRD. I say that only because I had both and
that was the doctor's diagnosis. Since I started taking Nexium and
carefully watch what I eat I no longer have these symptoms. I've learned
more than taking Nexium is being careful what I don't eat...no fried foods,
no fatty foods (ice cream is a real no-no for me), chocolate (sorry Jackie),
eating before going to bed. There are some others that get to me, but I've
found even if I take the Nexium and eat the wrong food, I've done myself in.
There are many a night when I go to bed hungry rather than take a chance of
experiencing an reflux incident.

I'll be curious to hear what your doctor says....

Default Stomach problems....... (virus stomach throat)

Hi Jackie :-)
YUK! I sympathise with your tummy problems. Part of the symptons of this
virus that I am still fighting is stomach discomfort. Bloatedness is a very
uncomfortable side of it. The lump in the throat thing.. I've had this for
weeks now and before I went to see my doc I was convinced that I had some
terrible disease! It might not be the case for you but it could well be a
virus. Do you ache at all?
I hope this doesn't last long with you.

Love from Caz..x

Default Stomach problems....... (stomach)

Hi, Jackie.....
Sorry for your stomach problems. Sounds a lot like me before the doctor
diagnosed me with acid reflux and prescribed Prevacid. If I take the
capsule each night, I don't have a problem anymore. If I miss a few nights,
the symptoms start back.

Please let us know what the doc says.

Take care,
MikeH

Default Stomach problems....... (diabetes diet stomach)

I'm sorry you're having stomach trouble, Jackie. {{{{{{{Jackie}}}}}}} I
know because I used to have IBS, but since I've been going to the chiro it
hasn't been too bad. Do you think it has anything to do with your new
diabetes diet? I wouldn't be surprised and it doesn't sound like it's
life-threatening. I don't mean to minimize it. That's not what I meant.
:-) Please talk to your doctor about it at your next appointment and let us
know what she said. Thinking of you.

Love,

Di

Default Stomach problems....... (anxiety stomach)

Hope your doctor helps you with this I have had a lot of anxiety related
stomach problems in the past, the symptoms were not the same as yours. 2
weeks is a long time, have you been taking anything for this? or are you
like me and hoping the problem just goes away until the wife forces me to
make a appointment:-)

Default Stomach problems....... (anxiety heartburn esophagus hernia hiatal hernia)

I really don't know much about this and don't share your symptoms. Do
you also have heartburn? It could be a *hiatal hernia* for which
medication (for instance a PPIU like Prilosec would be helpful). Some of
your symptoms strike me as possible anxiety symptoms (lump in esophagus
f.i.).
I am so sorry you now have to cope with this too, I think it's about
time you had some peace and quiet to enjoy your life...
