I have had a second vasectomy 6 weeks ago after the first in august
2002 apparently failed.
All seemed to go well with an experienced surgeon, procedure under
local anaesthetic, no pain or bruising, back to work 2 days later.
Post vasectomy pain developed around thre months later although this
was manageable.
After 9 ***** samples it appeared I was still fertile although neither
I nor the surgeon was sure.
Of the 9 ***** samples the first five were positive but (at last!!!)
no. 6 was completely sperm free. GP suggested one more sample 2 weeks
later (just as well since my surgeon accepts only one negative test to
give the all clear) which showed a full sperm count.
I was referred back to the urologist who asked me to provide another
sample which was again sperm free. He then asked for a further sample
again 2 weeks later and this showed a full sperm count. (any one else
had results like this?)
As a precaution the surgeon repeated the vasectomy this time under
general anaesthetic ( he was most insistent I could not have a local)
and now I am back to the waiting game anxiously examining my ***** for
any signs of (hopeful) change.
Disappointingly I have not been pain free since the repeat procedure
and am experiencing testicular and abdominal pain to a strong degree
and a very strong sudden but intermittent pain which causes me to
double up without warning.
Went to see the GP a few days ago and he has decided to initially
check for infection and I go back in a few days time. In the meantime
I explained that the abdominal pain relieves on ejaculation and he has
suggested an in crease in ***/************. (My wife will not believe
me!!)
