When I was 22 yrs. old I had a complete hysterectomy which resulted,
over time, with my breast shrinking, sagging and lost volume. The doctor
informed me this would happen as result of being "thrown" into menopause
via surgery.
Around the age of 25 I started seriously considering having breast
augmentation and consulted with several doctors but never had the money
(or guts!). Finally at the age of 39 I decided to "go for it" due to the
fact that I had no volume, I was quite a bit smaller than I was before
my hysterectomy, and felt that I could not fill out a swimsuit because I
felt much smaller on top than through the hip area.
I decided to have the implants placed under the pectoral muscles as I
was told they would look and feel much more real. I wanted to be a full
C cup as that was my ****nal size before surgery. At first I was happy
with the results even though they were sitting very high on my chest but
was told that with massage they would "fall" to a more natural
possition. Now five years later, my left breast is higher than the
right, I have hardening of both breast, they neither look nor feel
"real" and have constant pain in the left breast.
Also I can feel the implants.(They are saline) I have sinced learned
that the majority of women who have breast augmentation have to have
them redone within about a five year period, which I was never told. I
am very unhappy with them, and it has resulted in a intimacy problem
with my husband as I am too embarassed for him to touch them and I feel
that I am limited as to what I can wear for fear they will look "fake".
Now I'm stuck with fake looking, feeling, hard, painful breasts because
I cannot afford to have them redone. So PLEASE research any elective
surgery you may consider having throughly.
