16532: what standard of medical care are you talking about? are you
claiming to be the standard to which quality care is measured? quality
medical/nursing care cannot be measured geographically? it is measured
individually- for every nurse/doctor-patient interaction. i've seen a
lot of excellent patient care in this country as much as i've
witnessed horrific ones. i can say the same thing about my philippine
experience.

i see your questions as implications that our country is not capable
of any good just because it is not economically progressive as yours.
we have hospitals that have earned reputation as the best in asia
(heart center of the philippines/ national kidney institute/ pgh- to
name a few). i bet your hospital couldn't be the best in america- let
alone the world.

we give our patients the best care available; the best care we can
offer with the resources that we have. we re-invent. we modify. we
make things work for the patient without relying too much on what you
call technology. and let me tell you this. i work in the OR and i've
seen a lot of things that i've never and don't customarily see in the
philippine hospital i am from, but i've managed (like most filipinos)
to learn how to do and go about them as quick as farting because
technology makes it so very easy for you here- i'm saying easy, not
better. if i can send you to work in the philippines right now, you'll
be back home tomorrow! and we do extra hours without overtime pay
which you americans would never ever do- which shows our dedication to
our job, to our profession, and to our patients. and the next time
you talk about the quality of care you give to your patients here, try
checking their diapers for an emerging code brown- which goes
unnoticed for days until a filipina nurse did something about it. ok?

and what free medical care are you talking about? please, if you are
not sure of something, don't push it. you don't know what you are
talking about. it's a shame to lay claim on something that doesn't
exist. so the next time you have a thought, keep it to yourself- like
what you would do when masturbating...

earle: what they are wearing is not a maid's cap- it is called a
nurse's cap.
and wearing it wouldn't make a lesser nurse as you would assume.
that's what makes your statement racist in nature- for zeroing in on
the maid's cap. and i sure hope you can distinguish a maid from a
nurse- since you are an american (the superior race- some idiot would
call it).

and sorry for lowered grade you got for that dress code violation- was
it from from D to F?

earle: who and what would you consider an ex-filipina? or better yet-
who and what would you consider ex-american?

with regards to the topic:trading in foreign RNs. we traded home soil
for the green buck. you traded staying at home/ working someplace else
for your nursing job for the ultimate green buck. so, who's trading
who- and for what?

Jose, your shift key doesn't work, and point of fact I did not enter nursing
for the money. As evidence of this consider that I am still a student and
haven't made a dime off of it yet. If I cared all that much about the money
I would still be programming computers for hundreds of thousands of dollars
a year. In fact since I am paying my own tuition and expenses I can state
that I am trading money for the chance at helping my fellows.

the root of all these disagreements towards the hiring of foreign
nurses, in this case- filipinos, is racial bias. we never claimed nor
said it to be our god-given right to immigrate to your country- at
least not in the same context as it is america's god-given right to
occupy other nations in the guise of peace and democracy. no, not in
the same way you see it to be your god-given right to occupy the
philippines for more than half a century to bring about democracy the
way americans see it in a land that was un-american (but of course)...
but for as long as your nation's laws would allow us to work here- we
are not guilty of anything. we are here just to work;not take over the
nation's governance the way your country did. we are not here to
change your world the way you changed our heaven and earth. we are
here for the job alone- not for the blood ,like your forefathers did.
my country was free and democratic before the fucking spaniards and
americans came along (although i really cannot distinguish one from
the other). both nations saw, smelled, came and conquered: our
land, our resources, our people, our women, our innocence, our
liberties, our freedom, our laws, our culture and heritage, our
governance, our right to self-determination, our right to exist
without the shade of pale in our backyards and communities; your
government took away our nationhood in exchange for basketball, rock
music, std, and that old green buck. we are here to get a miniscule of
what was taken away from us. what is so wrong with that if the
american occupation of my country was indeed divine?we are not the bad
guys to start with. le me tell you a little about american occupation
in the philippines: the philippines was ceded to the US by spain for a
cheap bargain price of $7 million (walmart's sale prices are nothing
compared to this)- 7,100 islands, in the gateway of asia (hence the
japanese entered such gateway during WW2), and our virgins for free.
yeah, your heroes had a filipina for breakfast, lunch, and supper- for
free. again- for free. wow, no wonder you people are so gaga about
being heroes. then they started the commonwealth (for the americans,
of course). murdered the nay sayers(in fact, gen-then-lt douglas
mccarthur led a band of american slayers in the murder of tens of
filipino farmers in the infamous balangiga massacre in the island of
samar- this fact is for those who have no knowledge of philippine
history as it happened minus hollywood). fathered thousands of AmBoys
while writing nostalgic love letters to the wife and kids back
home.sob. ww2.handed our heads to the mighty japanese on a silver
platter. i shall return for cinematic purposes (the war was already
won when he gen Mc returned but they insisted on it because it had a
potential to be a big war movie after the war). and do you really
believe your war heroes fought alongside filipinos during the war?
hell, the idea is as ficticious as shakespeare's romeo and juliet!and
then it was time to leave the philippines to the governance of the
flipinos. they call it philippine independence. actually, there was
nothing left to steal: the philippines has been exhausted of
everything from A to Z. there was nothing left to gain. time to pack,
guys. let's go home. let's give them their freedom. it's time for them
to be sovereign...whew. do we have anything to be thankful for? tell
me..

your country is indeed sovereign. in fact, it is the only sovereign
nation on the face of the earth. it is only you who has the god-given
right to meddle with the affairs of other nations because you know
better(from experience);you alone can help topple duly-elected
governments because they are anti-american (what's with all this shit
anyway); you are the only begotten one who can lead the way because
you have been there (yeah- you have been thru the bloodiest civil war
known to man; you have been thru decades of racial scorn and
segregation- which is still on-going; this country has been thru a lot
of shit the rest of the world has to have them, too. right? ..."follow
me. i'll show you where i'm from. you fellas gotta suffer too."..
wait, we wanna walk the same road you're walking on right now too- coz
it looks better- but "nah, this road is private. you filipinos and the
rest of you nomads ain't allowed here. it's exclusive to us
americans." eh? that's american sovereignty. get these filipino freaks
out coz they have my dollars.hey, we're just giving you a dose of your
own medicine. you owned my country close to a century; i've only been
here 2 years- i got a lot of miles to cover here, people. you can't
stop us now. that's anti-flipino. hence, racism.

indeed, it is noble to live and work and die in one's native land. but
it doesn't mean it is ignoble to choose otherwise. and that decision,
for once, is none of your busines.

Guilty as charged but what are you going to do when your children or
grandchildren become infected by the complacency that infects most of us
American devils, and they don't want to become nurses either? Your
countrywoman Rebecca's comments about inferior American nurses are not
entirely off the mark, most of our country is infected with the idea that we
are entitled to things that other people are not, and your descendents are
going to catch this too if you stay here.

When that happens you will find out that "race," which has been debunked as
a scientific concept by the way, has very little to do with it. Unless you
are careful to educate them well and lucky besides you will have children
who are very much like "the fucking spaniards and americans." What then?

Which, to paraphrase, means don't come here, you will catch something, and
if you don't your children will. So just stay away.

History just doesn't mean anything to this guy. It is well documented as to
how the various groups immigrated to the USA. Chinese to work on the
railroads. Irish to work in the stockyards of Chicago, St. Paul, Kansas
City, etc. Immigrants to work in steel mills, ad infinitum. Each time a
group came into the USA the local residents threw themselves into a tizzy.
Nothing has changed. Everyone of these narrow-minded "locals" has immigrant
roots. Even the Native Americans came from someplace. Some scholars surmise
it was from Asia. So, the immigrants just live with the ignorance and go on
to improve the country.

Hell, in a few years we'll have enough numbers to vote Earle off the island.

No Rebecca, I like you spear-waving naked savages and your bad Spanish,
although I suppose you will never believe that now. You do liven the place
up. I am just trying to say that it is not as great a place as you imagine
it to be. If you must come, then welcome, watch out for the "rednecks," and
don't complain about how your children turn out. We have problems with ours too. ---snip---

See what I mean about becoming like us?

from the military.
