Default Ultrasound, 29W (bladder ultrasound)

I'm glad everything is going so well for you Kim. Makes all that hard
bedrest worth it. I had my 28 week ultrasound on Tuesday. The tech told me
that I had one baby sitting smack dab on my bladder (that would explain
everything!) Your tech is probably right about the weights tho. My three
are 2.3, 2.9, & 2.13.

Prayers for endurance for you.

Wow! That's great about their positions, Kim! (especially whilst on
bedrest). If you'll excuse the personal question, are you planning to have
the babies ******lly? Keep up the good work :-)

Default Ultrasound, 29W

Good to hear!

This reminds me of something I was wondering about. A neighbor of
mine is expecting twins, and she said she's getting ultrasounds every
month, because they are twins. Is this normal, or is her OB weird?
She did mention that it's harder to verify that both heartbeats are
there with just the doppler, since it can be hard to know that they
are the heartbeats of the *different* babies, so they want to keep
checking that everything is ok.

Default Ultrasound, 29W (ultrasound weight)

He said they were very

pressure.

Sounds like they are doing great. My baby A was also so low
in the pelvis the radiologist couldn't ultrasound her head
at my last scan it was to deep, he had pillows under my
pelvis tilting me back trying to get her to fall back a bit
but no luck...lol, so we never got a final weight estimate
on her without the head measurement.

If I can't be a good example, then I'll just have to be a
horrible warning.

Default Ultrasound, 29W (down)

Em,
Hoping for a ******l birth, but I did sign a consent for a c-section if
nessessary. Hard to tell what will happen, but both babies vertex is a
good sign. My Dr assured me that if they were head down we would do a
******l delivery. It does help that his wife delivered their twins
******lly also. My good friend who is a labor and delivery nurse at my
hospital says it really depends on the Dr. you get as some won't even
attempt a ******l birth with twins....too many "possible complications"
(I'm sure it all comes down to insurance and liability) But at least now
I know it may be a possibility!!
Here's hoping!

Default Ultrasound, 29W (pregnancy)

Irene,
My OB has done ultrasounds every month for the same reason. Early in the
pregnancy they said they can't tell "individual" heartbeats. Then after
20 w they did monthly for fetal growth. The explination I got is that
they want to be sure each is growing around the same rate. I know this
can be a problem with twins. My MIL was a twin, she only weighed 1 1/2
lb. at birth and her twin sister was 9 1/2 lbs. Its amazing she survived
ass this was 59 years ago, long before all this "technology" the medical
word relies upon so heavily these days.

Default Ultrasound, 29W (placenta)

That's normal. Twins are at risk for IUGR and, if they share a placenta, for
twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome (which can cause one twin to get more
nutrients than the other). So they monitor month-to-month growth and also
compare their growth to make sure it is not discordant.

This is why I have so much good data on how ultrasounds can overestimate fetal
weights :-)

Thank you.

That's what the doc said. I guess I must be doing something right.
