When an industry is more concerned than it's customers the truth is being hidden (condoms spermicides allergic)
The risk that matters is the sum of the risks from the various
chemicals you mention. The risks from each chemical depend on now
much of that chemical is present.
The count of chemicals, by itself, tells us nothing about the risk.
I see no reason here to suppose that skin contact with the silicone
lubricant is hazardous. Mentioning breast implants is irrelevant and tendentious.

(The article was written in 1997 or 1998. I would not describe its
tone as concerned.)
