What is Team Nuts? http://www.teamnuts.org -
Team Nuts is a Dallas-based marathon team of testicular and prostate
cancer survivors and supporters who have raised more than $60,000 for
the Lance Armstrong Foundation since 1999. The group runs marathons to
raise funds for and awareness about prostate and testicular cancer.
Team Nuts recently participated in the Dallas White Rock Marathon held
on Sunday, Dec. 15, 2002. The group was also profiled in the Dallas
Morning News.
In 2001, Team Nuts - founded by testicular cancer survivors Mike Wyatt
and John Briggs - was the single largest relay team in the Dallas
White Rock Marathon, with 100 runners in five-person teams, two-person
teams and individual marathoners. Since Team Nuts was founded in 1999,
the group has had runners in all five Texas marathons - Dallas, Fort
Worth, Houston, Austin and San Antonio.
Team Nuts is always seeking runners, contributors, and sponsors. You
need not be a world-class athlete - the five-person relay option means
if you can recruit four others, you only have to run a five-mile leg.
