Default Kava (stress anxiety paxil)

Thanks for the warning, I have also read similar studies about it. One thing
I found was that the people who have died or had liver failure from taking
Kava were not necessarily long time users but they did very high doses. The
Canadian Health Board noted that under 120 mg per day ( I think it was) was
well with in the safe zone.

With that said my natural path has explained the origin of my particular
Kava to be a very reliable company etc.

The Anien Pein does have another spelling but I can't remember what it is.
The first thing he put me on was called Xiao Chai wu Tang. That was for
anxiety and stress, that helped but only a little. Based on the Ying and
Yang theory of Chinese medicine he changed it to the Anien Pein because
'usually' if one doesn't work very well the other does. After about 5 days
of the Anien I feel much better. I went to the Chinese medicine\Natural Path
as a last resort which seems to be paying off.

The buzzing I referred to is a symptom of my anxiety, more of a dizziness
really, I only took the paxil for 1 day and the Effexor for 2. The Kava has
been a god send but as you said the purity is very very important. I only
hope that there is no addiction concerns with Kava, I have been trying to
take it as little as I need to.

Default Kava (panic anxiety withdrawal)

No, kava is not addictive. Most studies also show no tolerance problems,
although I've seen a few people say that they've increased their dosage
slightly over time. With the variation in quality, that may not be
meaningful. BTW, I was taking about 675mg a day when on the capsules and
stopped cold turkey without any withdrawal effects (except for the
inevitable return of the original anxiety and panic problems).

Just out of curiousity, would your naturopath/TCM practitioner reveal his
kava source?

Default Kava

No he doesn't say but he told me that if he runs out there are some vitamin
shops that have them but you have to ask since they keep it hidden. However,
in Canada they can be prescribed by a medical doctor.
