inherited a virtual Garden of Eden in the form of post-World War II America, then said thanks by
lighting up, getting laid, passing out. (Or at least that's the mythology.) Only a half century
later, they've kept their promise to change the world: soaring divorce and illegitimate birth rates,
political correctness, AIDS, drugs, gated communities, Bill Clinton and Newt Gingrich, Social
Security's imminent demise. Groovy, man.
