My dogs have both responded to themsleves in mirrors. When they were
puppies I had a full length mirror that they sniffed to see if it was
another dog and then walked behind the mirror to see if they coul get to the
other dog, it was highly entertaining to see the perplexed look on thier
faces. occasionally they will still look at themselves in the mirror but
they don't seem to be as fascinated with it as they were the first time.
