I have a friend that is suffering from clinical depression. Is it possible
for her to receive Social Security Disability Income if this is the only

My wife has AD which, even in its earliest stages, caused her to become
unable to do her job. If your friend's clinical depression is the cause of
their not being able to perform a job, an SSDI claim should be submitted and
evaluations performed to establish eligibility. Contact the Social Security
Administration for further information.

Your friend could get it if she/he was un- able to work and unable to
perform ADL
(activities of daily living). All she/he would need to do is go and
fill out paper-work.
