So much energy!
I totally agree. Spics get the worse in the world. We're like
second-class human beings just because of our inability to compete
socially with less sensitive individuals.
I am currently reading a book called "The highly sensitive person",
and it talks a lot about a particular kind of personality: the highly
sensitive. It says that a lot of people who are SPic are also highly
sensitive; both traits are correlated and have a lot to do with
serotonin levels.
There was a study done by psychiatrists in schools in Canada and
China, and it was revealed how our capitalist culture puts down the
person who is very sensitive and "shy", or introverted. Obviously, we
are less marketable in our industrial world, and therefore, much less
desirable.
In China, children with low levels of serotonin (highly sensitive and
shy), were at the top of their classrooms socially. Rather than "shy",
in Chinese, the word they use is "well behaved." And instead of
"sensitive", they have a word that means "being understanding." In
other words, those "shy" and highly "sensitive" are not seen as such,
but rather as as very special people and are very appreciated and
chosen for friendships by their classmates.
In Canada, on the other hand, their low-serotonin counterparts were at
the bottom of their class. They were shy and quiet, NOT desirable at
all in the western culture.
See, our world revolves around value, our culture is based on our
capitalism, and when it comes to personalities, the most valued
personalities are those that resemble our national celebrities, who
tend to be overly outgoing, extroverted, social, and very socially
connected. Our role models are those celebrities who embody success:
They are famous, rich, beautiful, and most importantly: NOT SHY.
Anything that doesn't fit that pattern is low regarded. Our own
culture is destroying us because our nature doesn't fit our industrial
world.
I myself feel confined to a career where I don't have to compete
against ohters socially. I will end up doing something where my
sensitiveness will be needed, such as psychology, art, writing, or
something of the like. I know I will never be able to fight in a
competitive environment struggling to become rich, because I can
foresee that it would be a social disaster. People with less
intelligence, but higher levels of serotonin will always reign in the
realm of wordly value.
