Default Why Do Liars Hate being Called Liars?

A little while back, someone asked the good question, "why do people
lie?" I would like to ask, why do liars always get all huffy and
offended when they are called liars; when it's obvious that they are
liars. Does anyone have any insight into this?

Liars don't hate to be called liars, because; lies are presented within
preferred contextual/relative truths.

(The huffy people you mention, are probably offended by your self
righteousness).

Could it be because of Cognitive dissonance?

They hold 2 beliefs:
I am lying
liars are bad

So when you expose their lies there is a conflict in their belierfs,
they deny the negative one (I am lying) and get offended that you would
even imply that.

That's a pretty reasonable explanation. Self-delusion...

Thanks, Alf.
