I was put on Cipro for a prostrate/bladder infection and after about one
week ALL my teeth became very sensitive. It hurts like hell to
eat/brush/breathe. I suppose it could be a coincidence, but I thought Cipro
could cause nerve issues?

Also the latest bout occurred after one of those two hour Glucose tests.
They take some blood, have you drink some sugared syrup, wait two hours and
take some more blood. Later that night I had excruciating back pain,
pain/swelling under the scrotum, pain in the lower abdomen and sweating in
the lower back. By the next day the pain was gone and my back felt better
than it has in weeks. I've read that sugar can cause some people's Prostate
issues to flare up so I was wondering if the GTT might have been the cause.
The ongoing back pain has returned and I'm still getting pressure under the
scrotum even on the Cipro, although the peeing is better. Had a shitload of
blood tests for fatigue a while back, but all were negative. Going for PSA
and Urinalysis after the Cipro finishes.

Will IC or Prostratitis cause fatigue and muscle stiffness/pain? It feels
like I'm fighting an ongoing infection, but all blood tests are negative.

====> cipro is a powerful broad spectrum antibiotic. i don't know of
any nerve issues, but check out the sites on cipro side effects. that
will give you the answer.

====> prostatitis will cause fatigue and pelvic pain so severe that one
can not work if it requires much sitting. of course, you can fill in
the muscle pain part if you accept the first statement.

prostatitis has many different symptoms and doesn't affect each person
the same. the cause for prostatitis is just as vague, which is why a
lot men can't get the answer they seek.

research and study the physical make up of the prostate itself. you
will see that it is hard to get medicine to the the affected areas.
that is why you were put on cipro. they are trying to use urine as the
method of getting to the source of your prostate problem.

I can't say the pain is debilitating, just constant. More swelling and
discomfort, along with the fatigue. Diagnosis has definitely been a
challenge.

Just a thought:

I've read that yeast can be one organism causing problems in the prostate.

Yeast feeds on sugar and so will be become significantly more active in the
presence of glucose, such as you received.

To test the notion that you are infected with yeast, you might try a zero
sugar, zero bread diet for a few days and see if your symptoms improve.

One way in which a yeast overgrowth can manifest is as mycelial
(fungus-like) colonies of yeast organisms in your gut. These can form
tendrils that poke through the gut lining in what is called "leaky gut
syndrome." If you have severe allergies, for example, that could be a sign
of leaky gut syndrome, as the immune system becomes hyper-reactive to the
undigested food particles passing into the blood through the perforations
caused by the yeast.

A questionnaire indicating whether you have a yeast problem can be found in
Dr. William Crook's book "The Yeast Connection."

I'm not a medical professional but have experienced what I believe was a
yeast overgrowth. Note that the proximity of the gut wall to the prostate
seems like a possible route for migration from the gut to the prostate.
That is just my own ill-informed speculation.

If you do have yeast, I suggest you obtain the book "Conquering Yeast
Infections" by S. Colett Lahoz (it may be available at wholeapproach.com).
I have no affiliation with that author or site.

Cipro can cause tendinitis. Some people have posted to say it is the drug
from hell. Others say it is no big deal. For the nightmare view, see "the
flox report" online. I reportedly can cause serious neurological pain over
time, which may not be reversible - that is even on the pharmacist's handout
that I got with mine. Personally, thus far I have chosen not to take it,
but my symptoms are very minor, and it may be the best drug for penetrating
the prostate. To help repair tendons I would suggest trying MSM, but take
just before bed as the process of repair may accelerate in the presence of
MSM (which provides sulfur needed for such repair) and that in turn may
cause you to feel quite sleepy while the repair is in progress. But it is a
good kind of tired and you may awake to find that sleep has resolved some of
the problems due to the repair.
