Default Dr. Nsyeo botched my PVP and the paper work (prostate)

On 4/16/2003 I signed up for "A Multi-center Clinical Evaluation of an 800W
KTP Laser Prostatectomy for the Treatment of Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia".

Dr. Unyime O. Nseyo aborted this (PVP) operation after he started it because
my prostate was too big and I was bleeding too much. He also botched the
paper work related to this operation and now I'm being billed for the
operation. The bills provide a number to call "if you have a questions
about your account" The number given is 1877 273 2790. Some joke, this
number just puts you on hold for a very long time then drops you. I have
left multiple messages for Dr. Nseyo on Pamala Summers answering machine
(804 675 5000 extension 2808). The bills keep coming and now they are
charging me an "Interest/ADM. charge"

As I have previously posted on this news group, I long ago gave up on Dr.
Nseyo and the "H H McGuire VA medical center" where he practices. I found
another doctor who did the operation with no complications and was 100%
successful.

Because of the physical pain I suffered as the hands of Dr. Nseyo resulting
in no improvement to my condition and the mental insult and anguish I get in
the form of erroneous bills, I would urge any Veterans who can afford to do
so, to have their PVP done someplace other then McGuire.

I have been unable to contact anyone who can get in touch with the billing
department, I'm forced to use this forum. I urge Dr. Nseyo or his legal
represenitive to contact me to explain why I should pay for a botched
operation when I have written assurance that I would not be a charged. You
may phone me at 703 791 3392

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all,

Dave

You should complain, in writing, to the county medical society or board.
Another place would be the local Better Business Bureau.

And perhaps let them take you to court where you can produce the
do***entation promising free treatment. Then the outcome of the
court case can be given wide spread publicity as it will be a
matter of public record. Somehow, I don't think they will let it
get that far!

What you really need right now is a good lawyer. He botched the op, he
pays.

Thanks for your support guys, but this string it starting to go in a
direction I did not intend. I'm no longer in pain and my penis functions OK
for a man of my age. My frustration is that I'm dealing with a giant
automated billing machine and I'm unable to get thru to the humans who can
turn the machine off. My hope is that by creating this virtual 2 by 4, I
can get Nseyo's attention and get him to turn off the machine. I long ago
contacted Pamala Summers who works with Nseyo and she admitted that "the
wrong number must have been put on the paper work and I should not have been
billed". The amount they are asking for is very small, less then fifty
dollars. I refuse to pay it on general principle! I have already paid for
lack of experience by experiencing un-needed pain and endangering my health
by exposing myself to inexperienced doctors. That's enough, I refuse to
also pay them when they screw up the paper work! I cringe to think what
would have happened if I had let an even less experienced Doctor operate on
me. That almost happened, but I got out of bed and refused to go into the
operating room when I learned the resident, Dr. Dumont, at McGuire who was
about to operate on me had only done a "few" PVPs.

I'm grateful that Dr. Nseyo was smart enough to know his limitations and
stopped the operation before he did any real damage. I'm eternally grateful
for the good people on this news group who told me about Dr. Lin, who
finally did the operation.

I have copied the posting that started this string and attached it to the
invoice sent to me by the billing engaged by McGuire Hospital. I also
attached it to an email I sent to LaserScope. My hope that someone reading
this string brings it to the attention of someone at McGuire Veterans
Hospital who can turn off the bill collecting machine. I would love it if
they took me to court over this. I know that they won't, they will just
waste time and money by sending me threatening letters. That is how the
machine works.

I'll let you know if I get a response from someone who able to correct the
error. If someone is able to explain to me that somehow I'm in error and
should pay the bill, I'll also let you know that.

Dave

P.S. I have many good friends who are good lawyers. I don't think I'll need
them for this.

Or perhaps you should take THEM to court. I'm not a fan of litigious
actions, but you sure seem to have a valid case.

Well done, Dave, in posting your problems and the names of those
who caused them. I do think this is most important.

Knowledge is power. The more we know about experiences like
this, the more pressure is exerted on such people to act
responsibly. They really do not like us knowing what they do,
let alone talking about it!

Default Dr. Nsyeo botched my PVP and the paper work (flomax prostate)

Our legal system right now is the only way we have of truly
protecting patients. You suffered because he made a mistake.
Right now doctors protect doctors.

Our drug companies fight natural remedies, forget about researching
them.

I went to a second opinion on a urination problem, the doctor wanted
immediate surgery, I went back to my original urologist, and he said
I had a small prostate, and the history, and examination shows 99%
a muscular problem.

However, I also started solaray prostate formula, that combined
with flomax, and I have no problem at all.

I tried other prostate formulas and none worked as well.
