What's a curretage and root planing?

Like I said, I had mild gingivitis on that side for years (you think I'd get a
break somewhere in my mouth! )and then when the crowns were put on it got
worse. It just stays at the stage it's at, though - never gets better, never
gets worse.


Is there any correlation between getting tons of canker sores as a kid and
having lots of tooth problems as a grownup?

According to recent expert testimony at a Daubert hearing in Federal
District Court (Third Circuit) currettage is scraping out the lining
of the pocket to resolve inflammation. For this we use a currette.

Root planing of course can only occur when periodontitis is diagnosed
and is actively present, exposing the root surfaces of the teeth. The
roots may have have accumulations of calculus and/or tartar ........
In common parlance (that I detest) ... its a "deep cleaning!"


Nope.

Many "tooth problems" are iatrogenic. What this means is that better
initial therapy (prevention and early intervention) would prevent ALL
of these problems. When will the public wise up? NEVER.

What am I doing in Federal Distric Court?

Getting smart ......... just for my own edification ........... no one
else cares about this until its too late.

I am figuring out where those guys went wrong!
