Default Post root canal percussion pain duration?

How long should one expect to experience discomfort/pain post root canal for
molar (tooth 37)? I have pain to light percussion with fingernail 3 days
post
root canal and IRM for vertical and horizontal cracks.

Please stop tapping on your tooth.

It reminds me of the old joke:

Patient: "Doc, it hurts when I do this."

Doc: "Well, then don't do that !"

Pain after RCT is highly variable.
No pain to tenderness up to 7+ days.

Am concerned about the cracks though.
This can also be a source of pain.

Give it some time to heal.

Depends greatly!

I have seen high quality root canals heal in three days or NOT HEAL
after a year!

A crack? That will never heal oin its own!

Another:

Doc: "The problem is your liver."

Patient: "I want a second opinion."

Doc: "Okay, then its your spleen."

This is like telling a dentist who has just undergone an aortic
aneurysm repair to stop touching his belly because it still hurts.

Now this is what I wanted to know. OK. I`ll give it 7 days and then
call my dentist.

Me too. He did remove parts of a fractured cusp and says the vertical
fracture did not get into the root.

If severe pain, you may want to call earlier.

Good news about no root fracture.
What about the horizontal fracture ?

I generally wait to crown a tooth that has had RCT
until symptoms subside. However, in the case of a
fractured tooth sometimes you must 'splint' the tooth
with a crown for symptoms to stop. Again, highly variable.

Why did the tooth crack? (rhetorical question)

Are you doing anything to prevent more cracking (and even continued
soreness in the tooth)?

NTI?
