Default sinus problem (augmentin zithromax biaxin allergies gentamicin)

Since '97, I've had an odor that I can smell and taste. I can't describe
it other than it's nasty. Last year, I went to my primary doctor and they
did a ct scan. It showed fluids in my sinuses, so they prescribed biaxin,
which did not work. In august I saw an ent, and he gave me augmentin,
guafacien, and presdindone to see if he could erradicate it. That did not
work, so my last resort, or so I thought, was surgery. In November 2003,
I had sinus surgery, which my ent opened up my nasal passage and took out
a big cyst. It's been almost 6 months now, and I am still having the same
bad smell and taste. It's coming from my sinuses.. that I do know. Last
month, I saw an allergist who tested me for allergies and I have none, so
that ruled out allergies. He had me get a ct scan and they put me on
zithromax for a week for a supposedly mild sinus infection. So, I went
back to my ent and the nurse read my ct scan films and said it showed
none, but to continue it. At thetime, the bad stink went away but came
back. Today, she gave me gentamicin to irrigage with. She told me it
should help but to see the ent, which I go see anyways in July. What is
causing this and how do I get it to permanently go away for good? There
are some days it will go away for a few days, but then it comes back and
wont go away no matter how much water i drink or brush and listerine.
What kind of sinus issue am i dealing with? Im at the end of my rope.

Default sinus problem (antibiotic sinus infection)

It almost sounds like an undertreated sinus infection. My ENT
has told me that some sinus infections require six weeks on an
antibiotic. Could be you see some relief from the antibiotics
when you're on them, but because they don't completely eradicate
the infection, it all comes back again. Maybe you should try
switching doctors or at least see someone for a second opinion.

told me it

What is

good? There

back and

listerine.

Default sinus problem (stasis bacteria)

when ;your cilia are not functioning well, ou can get a build up of bacteria
due to the stasis. In many casies it is a matter of getting the cilia moving
properly.

Default sinus problem (nasal)

After suffering with multiple sinus infections, year after year, for
decades, I experimented with flooding my nasal passages with a mixture of
diluted 3% hydrogen peroxide, baking soda and kosher salt. In order to flood
my nasal passages and keep them flooded, I keep my forehead pointed
downward. I keep my forehead down for quite a while, hoping that the
anti-infective mixture can get to the infected area(s) within my sinuses and
nasal passages.
..
It works! I have been sinus infection free for about 30 months. I think that
I had chronic infection problems with my turbinates, so flooding my nasal
passages with the anti-infective mixture worked very well, for me, since the
infected areas were fairly easy to reach.
..
I have fully documented my experience and how I did it at Healthboards.com.
There are posts there by people who have tried my "upside down sinus
flooding" and have received either partial relief or total relief. There are
also posts there from those who it hasn't helped, and by those who don't
think that it is a good idea. I have no connection at all with Healthboards.
I use it because I consider it to be the best facility for discussing health
problems on the Internet.

I agree keep with the irrigation until all symptoms are gone and
continue after that for about a week. It sounds like that might do the
trick. Many pathogens give off a foul odor. good luck

This is good but I think anyone who wants to try this would be doing
themselves a very big favor to do it with a Hydro Pulse.

Curious as to what Dr. Grossan thinks about the 3% hydrogen peroxide though.

You were asking about my opinion of irrigating with Hydrogen peroxide. In
theory its a good idea, but I don't known whet the effects on the nasal
membranes are and until i do, I can't comfortably recommend it.
