Default Hear the Silence re MMR autism (autism cough mumps meningitis rubella)

COMMENT on Press release of Alan Craft, David Haslam, Mark Jones, Jane
Collins,Carol Black, Beverly Malone, David Elliman, Helen
Bedford,George Kassianos, Mike Fitzpatrick, Brent Taylor by

1. "Over thirty years worldwide use of the combined MMR vaccine has
shown it to be extremely safe"

Comment: This is an obvious lie under most peoples definition of safe

a. On september 14, 1992 two MMR vaccines (Pluserix & Immravax) were
in the UK after it was revealed that children had developed meningitis

"In 1990, scientists from the Queen's Medical Centre Nottingham found
some children developed a form of meningitis after receiving it. But
despite this the Government went on using it for more than two years.
The Canadian Government, also using the vaccine, immediately switched
to a safer version. It was not until September 1992 that the UK
Department of Health issued pharmacists with emergency supplies of a
safer brand with instructions to withdraw existing batches."--Sunday

b. Japan stopped using MMR because it was linked to outbreaks of
non-viral meningitis and other damaging side-effects.

"They began using MMR in April 1989 and by July doctors were already
warning of side-effects, but the government didn't take any notice
because it was not convenient for them. They kept using it for another
3 years, securing the profits for the manufacturers".---Shunsuke Fuji

Withdrawn years after they knew it was unsafe, and then sold to Brazil
where it was in use in 1997, and probably still is to this day--Urabe
mumps vaccine is still for sale. Hardly acts to inspire confidence is

c. Death is hardly a "safe" reaction: they have paid out for MMR
deaths Even the US government
admits MMR can kill. Death is even listed as a reaction in the
National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act Vaccine Injury Table:
Any acute complication or sequela (including death) of above events

"The VDPU, for example, has made a payment to the parents of Hannah
Buxton, who died of a massive fit after receiving MMR at 18 months.
The parents of Chloe Dwyer, who died of Guillaine-Barre syndrome after
receiving her first MMR at four-and-half, also secured a

MMR vaccine VAERS reports 7 deaths per year (1990-1994):
"From July 1990 thro' April 1994, 5799 ADRs following MMR vaccination
were reported to US Vaccine Adverse Events Reporting System (VAERS);
including 3063 cases requiring emergency medical treatment, 616
hospitalisations, 309 who did not recover, 54 children left disabled
and 30 deaths."--- John P Heptonstall (NB Less than 10% of vaccine
reactions get reported to VAERS)

The Japanese government has paid out for two MMR deaths
and for serious brain damage from MMR.

They lie in the UK when they say it doesn't kill. Like they lie when
they say DPT never caused serious brain damage, or doesn't now.

d. ITP (an admitted reaction) is hardly "safe" especially if you
have your spleen removed:
"Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) which leads to bleeding
under the skin. Victims feel tired and feverish and develop a purple
rash on their skin which can turn black and spread over the body. In
extreme cases, the spleen may have to be removed or a blood
transfusion given."

e. Guillain-Barre Syndrome (a nasty polio like disease)
"Jason was vaccinated on 20 November and his problems began two weeks
later. 'At first it was like pins and needles and I just thought he
was playing up,' said Waveney. 'Then I noticed he was scratching
himself with a bottle top. Soon he was screaming his head off and
asking for his legs to be amputated.'\0

GBS is a well know, admitted, reaction of the swine flu vaccine but
the medical boys are still resisting its cause from other vaccines,
rather like their efforts with vaccine autism. Although the Japanese
have ordered the drug companies to put GBS on the package inserts and its even on the MMR package
insert but since when did that make
any difference when you get it from the vaccine.

f. Epilepsy
"At the hospital Robert regained consciousness, but was screaming,
vomiting and covered in blotches...Since that time, Robert has
suffered ever more frequent fits and has been diagnosed as having
erratic epilepsy. He attends a special needs school, has failed to
develop any further mentally arid has only limited powers of speech."

"Ann's 10-year-old daughter Rachel suffers severe epilepsy as a result
of MMR."

and so on, hardly safe.

2. "The vaccination programme in this country is used throughout the
world and has rendered these diseases uncommon in the UK and other

Notice no mention of "deaths", the whole point of eliminating measles
we would have thought. There is evidence measles vaccination has
suppressed measles but there is no evidence this is a good thing, with
plenty of evidence it is a bad thing in the long term

Vaccination has never been shown to have reduced measles deaths or any
other deaths (reduced by 99.4% before vaccination).
"Up to 90% of the total decline in the death rate of children between
1860-1965 because of whooping cough, scarlet fever, diptheria, and
measles occured before the introduction of immunisations and
antibiotics."---Dr Archie Kalokerinos, M.D.

"There is no convincing scientific evidence that mass inoculations can
be credited with eliminating any childhood disease."--Dr Robert
Mendelsohn MD

3. "Hear the Silence distorts the truth" and "one-sided and
misleading film"

The ***** Emperor is now a clothes critic. Have a look at the junk or
fraudulent science produced to claim MMR is safe: and look at the complete list
of propaganda ploys (lying, distortion, suppression, one-sided
monopoly etc) used by vaccinators for 200 years

"Despite the fact that the CDC's Davis et al methodology was fatally
flawed in regard to autism and thimerosal, the CDC's rogue team and
their U of Washington allies seem quite willing to continue diverting
attention away from the substantial likelihood that physician-injected
ethylmercury has been an etiologic factor in many cases of autism and
related disorders."---Teresa Binstock

"It is clear that the study was commissioned to dismiss the hypothesis
that there may exist a relationship between the MMR vaccine and
autism. In reality the study is fatally flawed and statistically
inadequate. Despite clear findings supporting the relationship
hypothesis, the authors discard their own clearly unexpected,
statistical findings and manipulating the results to ‘prove' their own
pre-existing hypothesis.
This approach, coming from the Medicines Control Agency, is an
outrageous attempt to pervert public perception of the potential
relationship between the MMR vaccination and autism.
In the continuing interests of the children and adults represented
by our organisation, AiA calls for the resignation of all key members
of the Study Group, on the grounds that they are prepared to place a
skewed and feeble study into the public arena in an attempt to defend
the MMR vaccination."---Allergy Induced Autism organisation press

" The Taylor study is seriously flawed in many ways, as had been noted
in a number of letters to the editor of The Lancet and in a number of
additional letters on the subject which have been posted on the
internet. It was subject to strong attack at a recent meeting of the
British Statistical Society. I have been a full-time researcher my
entire professional life, for almost 50 years, and I respectfully
asked Dr. Taylor for a copy of the data so that I could re****yze
them. He refused this ordinary professional courtesy, and I have
subsequently written to the editor of The Lancet requesting that an
impartial committee be asked to reexamine Dr. Taylor's statistical
methods. If he refuses again, I urged The Lancet to retract his
paper."--Dr Rimland

"Without hesitation, everyone except Dr Taylor said yes. Dr Taylor
refused. You would think that if he was as certain as the others that
his science was absolutely rock solid, there would have been no
hesitation. But with this issue, we are not talking about medicine or
children's lives – we are talking about politics. And I would go
further and say that in my opinion those vehemently denying any
association between MMR and autism ave scant regard for the children
involved – they seem to fixate solely on the percentages vaccinated,
and their own self-defence – the impact of negative articles on their
reputation, prestige, and validity of previously published comments,
and Wall Street shares."--Hilary Butler

"Dr. Rimland also took the opportunity to comment on the controversial
Danish study, rejecting it as "another propaganda piece intended to
assuage the public's concerns rather than shed light on the MMR-Autism

Produced mostly by the vaccine makers themselves or their company men
and women:

"Professor David Elliman, whose study said fears of a link between
the MMR vaccine and autism were unfounded, admitted that he and Dr
Helen Bedford had been given money by drugs giants SmithKline Beecham
and Pasteur Merieux Merck Sharp & Dohme. Their report, MMR Vaccine -
Worries Are Not Justified, is published in the current issue of the
medical journal Archives of Disease in Childhood, and was used by the
government to reiterate its view that the vaccine is safe."--Media
Makers of MMR II---Aventis Pasteur MSD

If MMR was just a drug, not a vaccine it would have been pulled years

Dr Rimland is the world's leading independent autism expert:

"The evidence that vaccines are a major cause of the increase comes
from a number of directions. One direction that's been largely ignored
are the laboratory studies. There are at least seven laboratory
studies, clinical studies, of blood, cerebral, spinal fluid, biopsies
of autistic children which show huge differences between autistic
children and normal children in terms of the presence of things like
measles vaccine virus in their intestinal tract, for example, or their
neurons. So, there's one line of evidence. Another, of course, is
that we have data from thousands of parents who testify, often with
videotapes and photographs and eyewitness reports, that their kid was
perfectly normal. And they can demonstrate it, as I say, very
conclusively with tapes until after the vaccine. The kid retreated
into autism. There's just converging evidence from many, many
directions."-- (Nov 2002) Bernard Rimland PhD

4. The list of vaccinators (Royal College of Paediatrics and Child
Health, Royal College of General Practitioners, Community
Practitioners' and Health Visitors' Association, Royal College of
General Practitioners etc) below is a recognised propaganda ploy
called "Authority"

The very thought that these organisations would jump ship over a
vaccine is as absurd as Ford, Rover, Vauxhall, Tarmac, AA, RAC, Road
Haulier's Association etc joining up to condemn the building of new

For one thing whistleblowers usually end up emigrating to Australia.

Old SnakeTongue in action:
"I should say that the recommendations on measles mumps and rubella
that the Government are following are supported by the World Health
Organisation, the British Medical Association, the Royal College of
General Practitioners, the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child
Health, the Royal College of Nursing, and the Community Practitioners'
and Health Visitors' Association."--Tony Blair, Dec 18 2001

Japan's Health Ministry says the withdrawal of the MMR vaccine for
children did not cause an increase in deaths from measles. It
followed UK Prime Minister Tony Blair's comments this week in which he
cited Japan as an example of the dangers of not having the combined
vaccine for measles, mumps and rubella.

5. If vaccinators are so concerned about child deaths how come they
wont use vitamin C?

"We know the cause of SIDS. We can and have prevented them. It's all
done with a compound called ascorbate. Not to use it means deaths
will continue. There is no other answer. There never will be. For
our findings are based on scientific facts. Not medical
opinion."---Archie Kalokerinos M.D.

"10,000 infants die every year--needlessly--from cot-death".---Linus
Pauling, the only man to have won two unshared nobel prizes.

You can see what the WHO is really up to in Africa--genocide via
vaccines like measles & polio vaccine Hardly an authority to be
trusted. Feared more like.

UK: Press Release & Discussion ON Hear the Silence TV Drama in UK

Channel Five drama about MMR presents unbalanced picture

As health professionals and support workers, who have daily contact
patients, we are well aware of the serious consequences of measles,
and rubella infections for children and for adults. The vaccination
programme in this country is used throughout the world and has
these diseases uncommon in the UK and other countries.

We are extremely concerned about the message given by the Channel Five
docudrama; Hear the Silence, to be broadcast today. A number of us
seen a preview and are disturbed at the misleading picture it gives
viewers. While accurately portraying the concerns of a parent with a
disabled child, it presents an entirely unbalanced picture of the work
Dr Andrew Wakefield who, while at the Royal Free Hospital Medical
School in
the 1990s, carried out research to discover whether there was a link
between the MMR vaccine and autism and inflammatory bowel disease. Dr
Wakefield, and a number of colleagues, published a paper in the Lancet
1998 which stated: "We did not find an association between the MMR
and the syndrome (autism and inflammatory bowel disease) described."

Hear the Silence distorts the truth in, what can only be described as,
irresponsible and reckless way. Throughout the TV programme, the
"there is a link between MMR and autism" are stated by parents and
Wakefield as fact. Other doctors who feature are abrupt, uncaring
characters who appear to positively dislike children. As goodies and
baddies become polarised, the audience is presented with a piece of
that could not be further from the truth. At no point are we told that
there was lack of corroboration of the findings by other research
there was disquiet felt by many of Dr Wakefield's team from the very
beginning, as his public pronouncements on the safety of the vaccine
far beyond what the research showed; or that at one time, Dr Wakefield
believed he had proven a link between the single measles vaccine and
Crohn's disease (subsequently disproven by a number of researchers,
including himself).

Research has now been conducted into the MMR vaccine in a number of
different countries and, although the drama omits to mention this,
continues to be carried out; as is good practice with all
Using a variety of methods, this research has repeatedly shown there
to be
no significant link between the vaccine and autism and/or bowel
and/or regression of development. No evidence has been found for the
of autism described by Wakefield and supporters: 'new variant' or
'regressive-autism with bowel problems' associated with the MMR
vaccine -
the form which features in Hear the Silence. Over thirty years
use of the combined MMR vaccine has shown it to be extremely safe and
highly effective at preventing these three potentially damaging
It would be a pity if the desire for "good" television took precedence
the welfare of children and set this back.

Our concern is that because this one-sided and misleading film appears
be a do***entary, with some key players and places named, it will have
undeserved credibility and inevitably increase the anxieties of
whose children are due to have the MMR. We hope that any adverse
are minimal and that the film does not persuade any parent to reject
MMR vaccine. We recommend that parents who have questions about the
vaccine seek advice from their health visitor or general practitioner.

There is absolutely no question that there is some (although very small)
risk to MMR vaccination. However, the risk of vaccination is much smaller
than the risk of getting mealses, which can be fatal or rubella, which can
cause birth defects or kill newborns.

In other words, they are not on the market any more. This shows that the
government is following the vaccine carefully. In the very rare cases when
there is a problem, action is taken to correct the problem.

Great drama, brilliantly acted and cast, great script. Watch it--its
the truth, history in the making. See how they try and suppress the
truth. Wakefield is a great man up there with the hand wash guy,
history in the making--it makes that Erin Brok movie seem like

Default Hear the Silence re MMR autism (autism mumps rubella measles)

TV drama sparks MMR fear
By Isabel Oakeshott, Evening Standard
16 December 2003
Health chiefs today feared a huge slump in MMR uptake after a
television drama portrayed the triple vaccine as unsafe.

Thousands of parents are expected to reject the controversial jab
after the screening of Hear The Silence by Channel Five last night.

The drama, seen by up to two million viewers, suggested a strong link
between MMR and autism and bowel disease.

Juliet Stevenson plays a mum convinced MMR is responsible for her
son's autism

Medical experts taking part in a televised debate after the programme
insisted the drama was misleading. They defended the jab warning that
measles, mumps and rubella will claim lives if youngsters are not

The drama, starring Juliet Stevenson and Hugh Bonneville, told the
story of a mother who becomes convinced the MMR jab is responsible for
her son's autism.

Opening scenes showed the mother desperately chasing the boy as he
runs off during a shopping trip and into oncoming traffic.

The drama was set against the backdrop of research by Dr Andrew
Wakefield, the gastroenterologist who first raised the question of a
link between the jab and autism and bowel disease in 1997. It began
with a claim that cases of autism among children have risen from one
in 2,200 in 1988 to one in 80 today.

Anti-MMR campaigners reacted with delight following the screening.
Bill Welsh, of the pressure group Action Against Autism, said: "This
drama was hugely powerful. Thousands of parents will now think twice
about allowing their children to have this injection."

During the highly-charged debate, hosted by news presenter Kirsty
Young, Dr Wakefield, of London's Royal Free Hospital, backed the
programme. He insisted: "There is a question over the safety of MMR."

But a string of child health experts, including the President of the
Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health and the President of the
Royal College of GPs, condemned the show before its screening,
claiming it "distorts the truth".

The Department of Health claimed there was "no credible evidence" to
prove a link between MMR, autism and bowel disease.

Default Hear the Silence re MMR autism (autism)

Funnily enough these "comments" about MMR, and other vaccines, seem to
happen on a Monday, and I do a child immunisation clinic at the General
Practice where I work on Tuesdays. Today, the day after this play (note
drama, i.e. fiction) was aired I had 4 children brought to clinic for MMR,
which just goes to show that common sense and good medicine prevail.
Unfortunately I was unable to watch the drama as we cannot receive the
channel which broadcast it.
