Help??? skin rash or what?
I really feel for you george. I went through several GP's before I could
even get one to refer me to a derm. Then I had to wait six months to get in
to see her. In all from the onset of symptoms until diagnosis was well over
a year. Tack on another 9 months of trying different treatments until we
found something that worked for me before I felt any relief.
OTC's I would recommend (please note this is not medical advice, i am not a
doctor):
For itch - benadryl, hydrocortisone, calamine lotion, or if you think it
may be a fungus try athlete's foot spray. as with any topical, always test
on a small area or single lesion before covering your whole body. you don't
want a reaction on top of already irritated skin.
Another thing that you might want to try - go to the tanning booths. Don't
go in expecting to bake yourself brown (or orange), but short sessions in
the booth several times a week may help. Tanning booths can help with
psoriasis, PLEVA, other pityriasis's, and dry chapped skin too. At least it
can in some people. Plus it isn't too expensive to try, even if it ended up
not working for your case.
Other than that, I don't know. Sorry I cannot be of more help. ~aria
